I have been aware in the past that in times of conflict (eg Ukraine now) the GPS satellite network coverage is deliberately 'shifted', thus our handheld devices etc may be compromised. Any experiences that this is happening yet/at all?

Sounds a bit bizarre really (with ref to Scotland) but 40+ years hillwalking and being exposed to the elements has, apparently, led to some serious UV damage to my head/nose/ears.....take care folks and have each lumpy bit checked - I am on a two week skin cancer referral so fingers crossed

Several winters ago snow closed the line and I was stuck at Rannoch Moor for nine hours (slept in the wee signal box). Corrour is a better station to get stuck in that's for sure. You could always re-enact Trainspotting.......

Coldest night was for me in Feb in the Cairngorms and sleeping in my Landy at (apparently) minus 20 something

Fortunately my ME Iceline did the business but condensation (since sorted) was a problem

There are so many positives here mingled with more than a tinge of sadness for what might have been

We can see these crappy times through Team Walkhighlands.....
