Water Containers?

Can anyone recommend a 25l drinking water container that can lie on its side and not leak? Need three for back of Landy.

GPS/conflict

I have been aware in the past that in times of conflict (eg Ukraine now) the GPS satellite network coverage is deliberately 'shifted', thus our handheld devices etc may be compromised. Any experiences that this is happening yet/at all?

:(

Re: Sun damage...

Once again thanks everyone - meanwhile, a Tilley hat eh? Maybe its a good idea albeit a bit late! I should really have bought hats/shirts etc that are UV 'protectors' as a lot of stuff simply doesn't stop UV. I think Craghoppers do some kit that is UV safe? PS a very Merry Christmas to one and all -...

Re: Sun damage...

Thanks for the best wishes people.... Ironic that the chances of catching Covid in the hills is virtually zero!

Sun damage...

Sounds a bit bizarre really (with ref to Scotland) but 40+ years hillwalking and being exposed to the elements has, apparently, led to some serious UV damage to my head/nose/ears.....take care folks and have each lumpy bit checked - I am on a two week skin cancer referral so fingers crossed

Re: Train from Corrour

Several winters ago snow closed the line and I was stuck at Rannoch Moor for nine hours (slept in the wee signal box). Corrour is a better station to get stuck in that's for sure. You could always re-enact Trainspotting.......

Re: Glencoe hillwalkers fined for travel violation.

is everyone aware that in times of international tension the GPS network is deliberately reset as much as100m 'off'? It certainly happened during the Gulf War at random times.....

PS not a conspiracy theory!!!

Re: Your coldest day?

Coldest night was for me in Feb in the Cairngorms and sleeping in my Landy at (apparently) minus 20 something

Fortunately my ME Iceline did the business but condensation (since sorted) was a problem
