Beinn a Chuallaich

With G en route to Ullapool. Had thought to do the Sow of Atholl but decided to get further from the A9. Good call. Deep snow on the valley, less so on ridge but strong wind. Shortish walk but felt like a proper mountain experience.

Ben Loinne

We knew the forecast for Easter Sunday was good so sat out Easter Saturday staying expensively in ? On Loch Ness. Wellworth it. Geoff did the Forcan Ridge. I joined up snow patches on Ben Loinne and had much fun trying to keep my crampons on for as long as possible.

Re: Walking websites for Ireland

Very glad you enjoyed your trip to Ireland, the photos are great. Donegal is well worth a visit. Mountainviews.ie can be useful though quite different from walkhighlands

Re: West Highland Way - Bridge of Orchy Accommodation

Various B and Bs in Crianlarich offered a 'shuttle service' as far as Bridge of Orchy and beyond when we were in the area
two years ago. It wasn't expensive as it meant they benefitted from the booking for two nights

Hope this helps

Re: road to grey corries past Corrie Choillie farm

How far up that road can you actually get, can anyone give a rough grid reference? There's a parking area where the track crosses the old tramway at NN256788. It's also possible to return from the Grey Corries traverse along the forestry tracks which are drier underfoot than the tramway, in which c...

Re: iPod / MP3

I often listen to a talking book (MP3 borrowed from my local library) when walking on my own, especially when on my own and if there is no visibility or a long walk out from a hill
