Ben Bhraggie Golspie

Really nice walk with Matt, steady pull uphill through woodland and views open out as you leave the trees. Monument is very imposing. Views continue as you go over the moorland and back down into the trees. Don't think we quite followed the route on the way back but went through the Big Burn walk wh...

Cullen to Sandend

Lovely as always along the coast although it was really muddy and slippy in places plus part of the path had been washed away near Sandend. Two empty beaches it was great. Took 4 hours but we stopped half an hour for lunch

Kingsteps to Culbin

Parked just beyond the golf course as lane to Kingsteps was closed. Walked down to the car park, back towards golf course and caravan park, up on to the beach and back towards Culbin. Came off the beach and back to the original track, nice to start to explore that end of the Culbin, great expanse of...

Upper Glen Feshie and Ruigh Aiteachain

Really windy day so it was a good low level walk. Good paths along the Feahie, a bit difficult to cross burns in places. Just walked to the bothy and back. Bothy was really interesting and spoke to Lindsay there. Path washed away in places and the bridge hasn't been replaced so it was just there and...

Carn Daimh Glenconglas

Nice to climb this hill from Glencongas as I usually start from Tomnavoulin. A good bright day, a few snow flurries. Nice walk, bit of variety with farmland, woodland and moorland on the top. Very windy as it always is when I go up there. Cloudy so view not as good as usual. A really good day out wi...

Aviemore to Kincraig Speyside way

A nice steady walk, clear path, well fenced on both sides so good for dogs. Only saw two cyclists. Trail ends at a very nice coffee shop. You need to turn right out of the route and walk up to the main road to catch the bus back. Get timings, right because buses are few and,far between. Ours drew off...

Speyside way Boat of Garten to Aviemore

A very gentle, straightforward walk on easy paths. Path is shared with cyclists so keep an eye out. Mainly through woodland but nice views when it opens out. Got the steam train back to Boat of Garten which was fun.

Loch Brandy and Green Hill

Had wanted to climb Mayer and Driesh but road to glen doll was closed so did this instead. Good path and steady climb up, quite steep at the top and near the edge. Carried on to Green hill. Overshot the mark for the way down and had to pick my way over rough ground to find land rover track. Take the...

Good walk out with Matt and Jess, nice and local, not too far or difficult but lovely views. Really clear track all the way round.
