A lovely walk, park at the visitor centre and walk along the river. About 20 minutes on a very quiet lane and then up into farmland and woodland circular back the lane and then river. Nice and sheltered most of the way if it's windy. Dry under foot and lovely views of the mountains. Nice steady walk...

Lossie to Spey bay

Lossie to Spey Bay about 11 miles. Lossie to Kingston is just a path between sand dunes and pebble bank, no views to speak of. Kingston and Garmouth are nice villages and Spey bay always impressive especially in the sunshine. A straight forward walk.

Meall Buchaille

Did this walk again Christmas Eve with the boys. Cloud at lower level but as we climbed we were treated to the most beautiful cloud inversion. Clear blue skies, sunshine, full moon still out. Very Icy on the top. A fantastic way to spend Christmas Eve.

Fishwives Trail Buckie to Keith

Good day out winter walking. Starting at Buckie Square walk back up the main road and turn on to the path just after the playing field and before Tescos roundabout - it is signposted but the start is not very clear, all well signposted after this. Along paths and minor roads, through farmland, stead...

Meall chuaich

Good day out, straight forward hill. Have to park in layby on the A9. Level walk in which could easily be cycled. Don't take the first right after the hydro station, the building you can see is not the bothy. Keep on the path until you can see the loch in front of you then turn right. There was a wo...

Meall Chuaich

Good day out with Rosemary - her first Munro. Weather was good, quite mild and cloudy on the top so no views there but we got glimpses of sunshine. Have to park near busy A9. Clear path past Hydro - don't take the first right turn, it looks like the bothy up there but it's not. Carry on until you ca...

Sgor Gaoith

Great day out with Sarah, Jon and Lewis. Straightforward walk, along the lane and up through woodland before open hillside. Path is clear. Very windy on the top and cloud came down making visibility poor. Path is not so obvious on the top and it is easy to lose it in poor vis. The wind made it chall...

Ben MacDui

Great day out, the weather was amazing. Parked at the ski centre. Started out just after 7am which was ideal because I had the best weather and missed the crowds. Ascended via Fiacaill Coire an t sneachda, steep but quickest way up. I was at Cairn Lochan within an hour. Didn't divert to Cairn Gorm j...

Buckie to Fochabers Speyside Way

Good day out with Rosemary. Weather was fair. A very pleasant, level walk, some variety as you go along the coast, through woodland and see the River Spey. Lovely break for coffee at the Dolphin Centre. Weather was so good we stayed there quite a while.

An Socach

Lovely walk along the Broddach, missed the turn after the ford but it didn't matter, just walked to the end of the track and then turned of to the right following landrover track near the grouse butts, steep last climb. Lovely clear day, no wind, good temperature - perfect. Walked across the plateau...
