Re: Simple question please

When posting a report, there's a box to tick near the top that marks it as a diary note - this means it doesn't appear on the forum or on the hill pages. It can still be seen on your walk diary page though (it isn't private)

Re: Loch lochy munros

There is always parking there provided for hillwalkers; most of the works have now moved further west and our description was updated just before Xmas.

Re: The Furths

Thanks - the ones in England and Wales are already included as they are all also in the Hewitts list. We've no plans to cover Ireland.

Re: Technology and do I need to be careful?

Just a reminder that the Walkhighlands app also shows your location on downloaded route maps, is free with no subscriptions, drains less phone battery than other apps as it uses a different technology (PWA), and includes Mountaineering Scotland's messaging on tech safety. It also saves the faff of d...

Re: Wainwright’s Outlying Fells

There is some confusion as to the list - some say there are 56. We've no plans to add to the confusion.

Re: how to get tops on bagging map?

If you go to the Donalds page https://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/donalds/

When you are logged in there is a little box near the bottom you can tick to include Donald Tops in your account.

Re: Long distance walking - what's the equivalent of a munro

The Great Trossachs Path is on Walkhighlands in 2 stages but we didn't think it long enough to count as a long distance walk. We've generally tried to include routes based on merit for walkers (some routes are really better/intended for cyclists) rather than any official criteria. We made a smaller ...

Re: Landslip 1.5km south of Ruigh Aiteachain up Glen Feshie

Chris Townsend has been up to look at this and it is a new landslip. It currently blocks the Scottish National Trail, and anyone using Glen Feshie as a through route.

Re: Problem previewing photos.

Been looking into this, and it's a permissions thing - they are saved and do appear once you have submitted the post, gbut until the post has first been submitted/saved, you don't get permission to see them (as you can't see orphan photos that aren't part of a post). I've altered the way permissions...

Re: Landslides and warning signs ruined my morning

This is why we have a different stalking message to North Chesthill compared to any other estate.

Re: Landslip 1.5km south of Ruigh Aiteachain up Glen Feshie

There have been at least two large landslides on that section (part of the Scottish National Trail route) in recent years - this is mentioned in the text ("landslides here mean that great care is needed at a couple of points.") All were passable - with great care - when last checked earlie...

Re: Nice Aberdeenshire Walk

We've been to check this route yesterday. The gorse has been cut back since this report and the path through the gorse is passable (though it needs regular cutting for a few metres).

Re: FORUM MAINTENANCE COMPLETE - 27th SEPTEMBER

Thanks very much for spotting & letting us know. The Donalds thing was a pre-existing error - if the report included only a Donald that was also a Corbett or Fiona, it only appeared on the Donalds-only filtered forum if it had been edited after submission. That's now fixed. I've fixed the Orkney...
