If you are getting the bus from the airport into glasgow to get the train then there are lots of outdoor shops around the route from the bus station to central station. Mountain Warehouse, Blacks and nevissport on sauchiehall st. Then there is Tiso's on buchanan st which is en route to central stati...

No idea about stranraer but you can buy them in moffat in the aptly named moffat outdoors shop. It's on the halfway point of the trail. They stock 100g and 230g optimus cartridges.
