Re: Wind Shirt - Advice/ Recommendations

The Paramo Bentu is a gorgeous thing and it comes in a nice shade of nature-friendly green (among others). Very shower proof and the hood's great. Three big pockets. Combines with the fleece of the same name to give legitimate waterproof protection. Not the warmest jacket ever, so I'd want something...

It's usually climbed in combination with a linked, slightly higher Munro...

Re: Where's the picture ? - Scotland (part 3)

Clue: it shares its name and a line of sight with another Munro.

Re: Where's the picture ? - Scotland (part 3)

Can't see any mention of Shona near the grid ref I gave, but as life is ticking away I'll provide a pic

Re: Where's the picture ? - Scotland (part 3)

I'm afraid I didn't! The location I guessed is exactly thirteen grid squares due north of where you've said. Think it's your go again...

Assuming you mean Back of Keppoch, you're in the right part of the country, but not close enough.
If you mean Keppoch on Loch Duich, nope!

I meant the island between "North Channel" and "South Channel" on the map. NM6286

Can I ask if you fixed the magnet on yourself? If so, where did you get it from?

Re: Cùl Beag and Cùl Mòr

Fantastic! This is what we all hope for when we camp up high. Looking forward to the Glass Bheinn report, it's a cracking hill.

Re: Fuar Tholl - everything a mountain should have

Gorgeous photos of a gorgeous area. I spent four nights around the Coulin Forest last Spring, and although Fuar Tholl was the one I was looking forward to most, I actually found it to be a little underwhelming compared to the others I climbed that week! Sgorr Ruadh had better views and an amazing qu...

Re: Honey Stove Review

It was your mention of your honey stove on the "cooking systems" thread that led me to check it out recently. I went ahead and bought one, with a view to taking it on my upcoming jaunt to Scotland. I normally just use a jetboil but it's pretty limited - with my honey stove I'm hoping to do...

Re: Cooking Systems

I've a couple of big backpacking trips coming up and the thought of eight nights on rehydrated meals isn't appealing at all. I don't get a lot of the hate for rehydrated meals these days. Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy them for a night or two. But I eat quite a lot of them, and I'm somebody who lik...

Re: Cooking Systems

I'm a Jetboil user but looking to branch out. It's an efficient stove for boiling water quickly, but not a great deal else really. I've a couple of big backpacking trips coming up and the thought of eight nights on rehydrated meals isn't appealing at all.
