Re: BBC Alba Sunday 1955hrs

Back in the day was there not a bunch of lads working the Glasgow docks who did similar stuff using ropes off ships and in tacky boots?

And is that where the expression The Bimbler's came from?

Re: New Coronavirus Law

make sure you keep a safe distance though as Science tells us: Bourouiba, a fluid dynamics scientist at MIT, has spent the last few years using high-speed cameras and light to reveal how expulsions from the human body can spread pathogens, such as the novel coronavirus. Slowed to 2,000 frames per se...

Re: New Coronavirus Law

As a Uni research scientist I'm still on my soap box here re use/abuse of the word 'scientific'. Example: an Establishment 'scientific' claim that, sadly, the death rate currently is higher than we would expect at this time of year for the elderly and vulnerable. Analyse the data, and so after a par...

Re: New Coronavirus Law

Have we really reached the stage where in order to achieve compliance, we have to enshrine in law the consistently communicated and widely understood guidance that tells us to stay within 5 miles of home when we exercise? Just do the right thing, not the easy thing. Please. This will end soon. Avid...

Border Reiver wrote:If it's really impossible to find an area the size of your tent footprint, cut or pull some of the long grass and use it to create a soft level area to pitch your tent on. It's a lot more comfortable to lie on than a hard green area.

Re: New Coronavirus Law

These guidelines/rules etc have been ignored for weeks so don't angst too much about an 'exact' radius or any other gubbins as it is scientifically illogical and practically unenforceable - just take care :D

Re: Stay at home

Stay home, stay safe, all there is to fight corona virus is responsible behaviour.. Please stay home, stay safe, doing this will give us all the best chance to get back to the hills soon enough. Also staying away for this period we are allowing the ecology to recover and flourish. It is not just ab...
