Re: Stepping up! Advice sought.

I am part of a group attempting Nevis on Sunday for charity. Only some of us have crampons etc, it may be that not all of us reach the summit but I could update you on conditions on Monday afternoon if I cant get a signal on my phone on Sunday at our accommodation

Re: Drumochter No More (Almost)

Nice report, we were up Beinn uldamain and Sgairneach Mhor on Sunday, think you may have had better views than us though judging by your pics.
Like the idea of the sledges also, thinking of buying one now.

Schiehallion

I spoke with Matt_18 during the week and after due consideration regarding the weather forecast decided on a smallish route that appeared in general, quite straightforward, Schiehallion fitted the bill nicely. I arrived at the car park just after 7.30 a.m closely followed by Matt and his brother Ric...

Re: Ben More and Stob Binnein from the South

Nice report, some great pics.

I have only done them from the Crianlarich side and I am in the same mindset as yourself, never again.

A few of my friends have still to do them so might recommend doing them they way you have and might even join them.

Is it really not as hard?

Mullach Clach a'Bhlair and Sgor Gaoith

After reading the forecast for the weekend I knew I had to get out somewhere, after consulting Matt_18 we decided on heading north for the Cairngorms and Mullach Clach a'Blair and depending on how we were feeling maybe add Sgor Gaoith on too. My friend Craig picked me up at 5.25 and then collected E...

Re: First real winter walk

Thanks JC, thought that would be the case. Nice 1st winter walk guys. Shame about the camera but you have the views lodged in your mind. Next time i would take crampons/ice axe to be on the safe side. Its certainly tough going when leading the way! Well done - was a good day to be out yesterday. I h...

Re: First real winter walk

Thanks JC, not sure if I will venture out again until I have crampons though, being a beginner I would imagine they would be pretty much necessary if we do get a cold spell firming the snow up? Think we just managed to get away without them yesterday as it was so soft, although there was a few slipp...
