Re: Scaraben scorchio

Glad you both got a cracking good day for your return visit to Caithness. You've done a good job in promoting our hills, maybe we'll get some more visitors.

Re: Morven just a Graham!

Good report there of our so called oddities in Caithness. The beauty of these hills is that you'll probably not meet anybody. Such isolation and on fine days views as far as the eye can see. Once you've done the Scarabens, why not try some of our coastal walking along the new John O' Groat trail fro...

Suilven path repairs

Just thought I'd share some photos of Suilven which I did last Saturday. Probably some of you know the John Muir trust in association with Assynt Foundation are upgrading the path to and up Suilven. There's lots of 1 ton bags of stone in place ready to be placed. On the steep climb to bealach there'...

Re: John O'Groats trail April/May 2017

Dave and Tina, Thanks for giving a good report of how the trail is now. Glad you enjoyed it. Jay will certainly like the feedback. Things will improve as time goes on, hopefully we'll get a bridge over the Ousdale burn soon. Our next project is marking the route south of the Broch. Good luck with th...

Re: John O' Groats trail.

Nice work. I'm no native Brit, so perhaps this was pretty well-known already, but I got quite excited when I saw the article in the news letter email. Regardless of whether I will ever walk this trail or not, I can only apllaud such projects. Will donate for sure. Good luck, and thanks for this. Th...

John O' Groats trail.

Hello All, You'll see from the WH newsletter that the above trail is now featured on WH. As this is a new trail in progress we require funding to enhance the work going on. Some of you's will know me from various WH meetings. I had the pleasure to organise the Aultguish Inn one 2 summers ago. Was ve...

John O' Groats trail.

I would like to publicly thank Paul and Helen for their interest in the above route and for publishing it to a wider audience.
Hopefully folks will take up the challenge and discover a forgotten area of Scotland.
You won't regret it.

Re: Tre Cime triple whammy

Good report Seana and some wonderful photos. Making me wish I was back there again. So many hiking options there to explore. The via ferrata gets you into some great locations and the 1st World War history is all around. Glad to see another Tre Cime story plus my own one resurrected further down the...

Re: Yet ANOTHER August Compleation... Bynack More 27/8/16

Thanks Gill for posting some photos. Looks like a good time was had.

Can't recognise a few folk with all the midge nets. Must have been bad. Either that or they wanted to remain incognito.

Congrats on compleating , now for the next challenge

Re: Yet ANOTHER August Compleation... Bynack More 27/8/16

Hi Gill, Unfortunately I won't be able to join you's on your special day. Have some waymarking to do on the new Inverness to John O' Groats traill. So enjoy the day with family and friends. Don't forget the bubbly at summit. Aviemore's certainly gonna be busy with you lot and 3000 bikers. Look forwa...

Hi Hugh,

Sorry to say I can't make this meet. Was camping so won't upset anything.

Re: Yet ANOTHER August Compleation... 27th August 2016

Well done Gill in getting close to compleation. That must be quite a feeling. All that time and effort and a good few quid spent coming to an end. In reality, you'll be ticking of other hills or redoing those hills that were in the clag. It never ends. Anyway myself and Jet will try and make it. Let...
