Re: The West Highland way route

Will keep an eye on this thread, as my sister has been flirting with the idea of doing doing this next year at some point.

Fancy doing the coast to coast walk, the one that has been serielised on bbc2 recently, I think its an Arthur Wainright walk.

Good luck for this when you do it.

Re: Memorial Cairns

I believe that memorials, plaques, photos, plastic flowers etc, should not be left to comemerate someones passing. Where does it all end? Our ( wether it be Scotland or anywhere else in the UK ), land, hill and mountain tops should not be messed up in this way. I like what was mentioned on the Nevis...

Re: New `Walker`

Cheers Madjock, for my morning read, very interesting indeed. Damned if I would carry, push, pull those big lumps of stone up the hill. Kind of sceptical about the bit where it said that Sir Hector Munro had `with help`, pushed the stones back downhill so the he could pay the locals twice for gettin...

Re: New `Walker`

Hi from mountainman (Tain)..whenever I get new boots I break them in by going up Fyrish or The Struie rather than going straight into a longer walk, that way you're less likely to get blisters from new boots. Fyrish!! Ah, the memories. I remember me and a group of my friends went up with our mounta...

Re: Walkhighland vs Munromagic.com

I have just spent the last 10 min having a look at munro magic. And can remember it from a few months ago, when I first starting liking the idea of doing Munros. As an observation I find that this site and forum is more user friendly and a friendlier place to be, but that is my opinion. I know I am ...
