Re: Superb Lakes weather-Fairfield plus 4

It wasn't as bad as it looks, the shots like this always make the best photos, I have a great shot taken on the edge of Fleetwith Pike with Buttermere behind, you can see Scotland in the distance, had it put onto canvas, that was a great walk coming off Haystacks :)

Re: Ladybower in The Peak District

We tend to think the Peak District is on our doorstep coming from the Potteries but our trip to the Lakes only took us 1 hour 50 minutes on Saturday, sometimes the Peaks take longer. There are some lovely walks but it must be hard to drive a few hours when you live so close to all those fells as you...

Ladybower in The Peak District

Hello, out with the gang again on Saturday, this time a lovely walk around the famous reservoirs in the Derwent Valley, practice area for the legendary Dambuster Raids and sunken communities lost forever beneath the water. We parked up on the A57 at G.R. SK 198 864, the 12.4 mile route taking us thr...

Re: Grange Fell

Hi,when we did it last year it was very boggy but we followed the Watendlath path from Rosthwaite, a turret of rocks marks the top and although it was a bit misty great views to Keswick and the Borrowdale valley.

Pen-y -Ghent

Hi, this was a chance to see one of the other hills that we would be climbing when we do our charity 3 Peaks Walk, we started from where we would camp and took in Pen-y-Ghent and 11 miles, the weather was not too good and a fall in the bog requiring two knights in shining armour to get me out didn't...

Re: Pavey Ark/Harrison Stickle

Brill, my husband wants to do Yewbarrow, he says theres a way off midway so as not to go down Stirrup Crag, saw Fred Talbot on a dvd and he missed out the crag as there are a few leg stretches I believe, my first wainwright was Helvellyn via Striding Edge, fortunately it was quite misty so the VIEWS...

Re: Pavey Ark/Harrison Stickle

I don't think you are much of a mountain coward when one looks at the impressive list of conquests under your name, all the wainwrights, did you save a special one for last?

Re: The Coniston Range in a Proper Winter!

Great photos, i have only just had my first crampon walk and it is strange, only when I got home did I see the rips in my gaiters from the spikes, suppose it saved my trousers. Was up on Coniston Old Man in November but no snow, I can see what I missed now, great story and always better safe than so...
