Re: LOCHNAGAR

Nice pictures! My favourite way up is, as you've mentioned, via the Glas Allt. It can be difficult to find in the clag if using it as a descent route though. Combining an ascent via the Glas Allt and a descent via the Clais an Rathadan is really nice, or even bothying one side or other of the hill. ...

Glen Gairn & Tom Breac - small hill, big view

Having done a load of jobs around the house, I got out for an afternoon walk on a day with very strong (>60mph) winds on the high tops. I thought something a tad lower might be more pleasant! P5190216.JPG Setting out from near Gairnshiel and heading for the River Gairn, the slopes of Mona Gowan are ...

Re: Glenshee Three - Expectations Exceeded

That's just it! There's always a reason to go back to a hill! :D

Kind Regards

Re: Glenshee Three - Expectations Exceeded

You picked the right side of the country given the weather of the last few days! It's good to hear you had a good day; folk seem to do this walk on a poor day, for reasons which I can understand given the ski debris. I've climbed this group several times and have had two amazing days; the first time...

Re: Sgurr Innse and Cruach Innse

Thanks Rockhopper, Graeme, Jockstar and Monty Fine hills, and it was nice to take the extra time by staying at the bothy. I'd planned to go up Glen Roy the next day, but the weather was, frankly, pish. The Dwarf Cornel seems to be flowering early than usual. It's an interesting plant - the white &qu...

Sgurr Innse and Cruach Innse

Sgurr Innse and Cruach Innse from the bothy in the Lairig Leachach. The timings are from the bothy. A vehicle can be taken up a track from Corriechoille to NN253776, but the track is rough and has several gates on it. I'd come to walk, not drive so I parked at the bridge over The Cour at NN249810. T...

Re: My First Munro

Fantastic Jack - well done!

Now you need to take Granda up some more hills to try out the new boots and rucksack :D

Make sure you get a mountain-sized ice cream for every one you do; it takes lots of energy to climb hills so you need to feed up! :D

Meallach Mhor

A nice short day above Glen Tromie with really fine views. Parking around Druimguish needs care - there is space for about 5 cars just off the road in the woods, but parking in the hamlet itself would be less easy and intrusive. Druimguish is also a reasonably well used start point for D of E groups...
