If the ultraviolet light source is built in, and it doesn't weigh much; maybe. I'm probably going to buy one of these though

Re: "easier" Munros

To be honest, if she's "running fit" pretty much any munro will be fairly straight forward, so long as it's not technically demanding. The hard part is not complaining when the rain/wind batter you! I'd recommend The Cobbler, Ben Ime and Ben Narnain as the views are excellent. I've never b...

Re: Mountains make great passwords

SLIOTHACH That's a fantastic idea and a great name for a mountain. Reminds me of my other trick - winding tourists up by pretending I can talk Gaelic when all I've doing is stringing together mountain names and German (which I can vaguely speak). Liathach stuc a' vorlich chroin sein butter churner ...

Mountains make great passwords

I have loads of accounts on the Internet and loads of logins. Keeping track of secure passwords is a pain and it's really easy to just be lazy and use a simple word. But lately I've been doing this: Seeing as some Scottish mountains are really tricky to spell (like Liathach, An Sgarsoch, etc) I use ...

Re: Mountains outwith Britain

Can I ask, what's the motivation behind your "maximum height" criteria? If it's just the boast factor of walking up a massive mountain I don't think height is better. Personally I wouldn't be that impressed by someone telling me they'd walked up Kilimanjaro. A degree of fitness, time off w...

Re: Drinking wild water

I have come across dead sheep and deer several times in streams on the hills which is quite off putting. There's a gully to the SE of Ben Lawers full of dead sheep. Apparently they shelter in there from the snow then get blanketed and are unable to move. Shame. I notice the other sheepies didn't se...
