First Climb of 2024

It was a beautiful, clear day when we set off from the car park at Loch Earn. No rush today, this was the first walk of the year so a very leisurely climb was what was needed. Moving time was just over 3 hours which was expected. The other 2 hours was just enjoying the views and taking longer than u...

Carn na Caim

Slog up the path, need to work on fitness and weight, LIFE CHOICES!!!!!

Nice easy walk on the plateau to summit. Wind really picked up, temperature dropped so thought it best to get off the mountain, wasn’t pleasant walking and would probably only get worse.

Will get the other one another time.

Cloudy Summits Again Clear on Way Down

Good walk, bit of a slog on some of the uphills. Cloudy day, blue sky teased a bit then came out on the descent

Slip sliding away

Good walk, bit of a slog due to muddy parts, slipped on it a few times. Lovely sunshine for most of the way up then clouded over, wind picked up and the rain came

2 of The Lawers Range

Low cloud to start the day, couldn’t see too far in front.

Excellent cloud inversion seen when climbing Meall Corranaich.

First Walk of the Year

For one reason or another this was my first walk of the year. I’d read a few reports from fellow walkers and thought this would do for a start to the year.

Arrived around 9-20, put on my boots and off I headed along the good track.

Morning Walk up Creag Ruadh (Dalwhinnie)

Decided to do this one after some humming and hawing, was just after a short walk to do with my son and this one seemed the best option. We are holidaying in Aviemore so was only a 30 minute drive to the starting point of lay-by 94 on the A9. We were the only car there so didn’t expect to see anyone...
