Re: Anatom Q2 Boots

Thanks Papa, I got a pair from my local store. Managed to get him to come near to Amazon price. Got them for £96. Size 43. Straight out of box and a 5 mile walk. Flat (there are no hills in Bedfordshire) and dry but no issues. I'm liking them so far.

Re: Britain's Greatest Routes?

Suilven is not a great route. I did it as a traverse earlier this year. The summit is a fantastic, amazing place to be but the price is a long, tedious walk which is far from "great". It depends how you define great I suppose. By enormity, interest or asthetics. The Laven horseshoe certain...

Anatom Q2 Boots

Has anyone done any mountain walking in Anatom Q2 boots? Any comments?
I am considering some to replace my Zamberlan Treklites and wondered what anyone who has used them thinks.
TIA.

Re: Bicycle essential

I remember this one. It was one of the reasons I bought a bike. When I did it though, I wild camped just beyond the Geldie Lodge ruin and had a horrible evening being harassed by swarms of hungry midges. I was greeted the next morning by a fantastic temp inversion though. In the end, I never did use...

Re: PHOTO COMPETITION #42

18th June : No trips in June so this one is 15 minutes walk from where I live. One of the lakes left after the gravel extraction near Upper Caldecote in Bedfordshire. There was uproar and campaign groups formed in protest at the gravel extraction but now the lakes are a real asset to the area. (Niko...

Re: Carrying a DSLR into the Mountains

When carrying my SLR/DSLR up mountains I store it in a CCS case which is then carried in my rucksack. This protects the camera but means I have to stop and upack pack it when I need to take a shot which I have never found an issue. I carry just the SLR with a wide angle zoom. Initially a 18-35mm but...

Re: What are the hills on the right ?

Looks like its taken from the north to me. Possible guess is the two on the far right are the Balahullish Munros with possibly Bidian to the left of them. But I may be way off.

Re: Suilven, North to South

I think if you can manage it, then doing it as a circuit is the best way. We did it the other way last month - from south to north. I think this is the better way because the ascent is more gradual from the south so that when you reach the final pull to the bealach it isn't so far and is easier goin...
