Beinn Liath Mhor a' Ghiubhais Li

With thunderstorm warnings covering much of the country on Saturday, it looked to be a good bet to head further north, though not wanting too big a day, just in case, I settled on this unpronounceable hill which I’m sure many of us have driven passed without giving it a 2nd glance. I checked the var...

Re: Mullered - XXXX hot with a very unpleasant after taste!

I was watching my feet on descending Meallan Liath Coire Mhic Dhughaill on Saturday, and about to set off in the wrong direction (towards Meall Garbh) when I saw two people on the Càrn Dearg ridge (probably Weaselmaster and Allison - have you got orange waterproofs?). Did a double take as I realise...

Baosbheinn

The usual Friday fun, where/what shall I walk this weekend? Had a few thoughts but the NW coast looked slightly cooler so packed the van and away I went. I was away 1st thing, to try and get as much of the hard work done before I really started to feel the heat, it’s a long walk in, about 4 miles al...

Re: Parking Fine at Glen Lyon!!! :-(

OK just to clear up any confusion in my head. I'm not familiar with this location. So if I were to turn up there and look for a parking spot would it be obvious with signage etc that I should not park in this particular lay-by? I get the clear way part but lay-by? There are .pdf files showing the c...

Beinn Mhic-Mhonaidh

Walked this from the Glencoe Ski Club lodge in Bridge of Orchy Followed the forest tracks to the high point of the tracks at NN237356 and made my way over rough ground to the summit after crossing a deer fence, there was a locked gate following towards the summit which allowed for an easier climb. D...

Beinn a' Chaisteil and Beinn nam Fuaran

Walked this before meeting up with everyone at Bridge of Orchy. Sort of knew what to expect, this was very steep and a long walk back out. Enjoyable round

Càrn a' Choire Ghairbh and Aonach Shasuinn

surprisingly warm day, instead of following the guide books, I walked to the head of the loch to use the stalkers path before joining the normal route on the ridge and followed the rest of the guide book route. At the bottom I picked up an track which I followed to the north bank of the Allt Garbh a...

Re: Parking at Auch Farm (or nearby) for Beinn Mhanach

Another option is to start a Pubil and use the track on the north side of Loch Lyon, it's great for a mountain bike and the bonus of only the one burn crossing

Glen Roy Carn Deargs

Similar conditions to Good Friday but more blustery. Initial ascent is stupidly steep but easier higher up while avoiding the maze of peat hags

Beinn a' Bha'ach Ard

After a wet drive over on the Friday night, the day stayed dry as far as the weather was concerned. Underfoot was another story and at times starting to get tedious
