Re: Using Walkhighlands forum on mobile phones

Had a quick look and it is definitely much better, no need for all that annoying horizontal scrolling now!

Glad that my vote in this thread from last year finally counted and others have come round to my way of thinking.... Thanks. :)

Re: Traveling East To Follow A Star

Cheers Susie, So you have these crazy grouse as well I had honestly never seen so many ever!!! I got really excited seeing them at first and then after 20 minutes of stopping the car to let them cross the road... the novelty soon wore off!!! Re: Goshawk?

Paul&Antonia wrote:I only saw the bird from behind but it was definitely a mottled brown colour on its back with no hint of grey.

So.....What chance I saw my first ( and probably only ) Goshawk?.

Yes, I think it is entirely possible.
The colour suggests that it could have been a juvenile bird.
Good spot!

Re: Walking poles - anti-shock or not?

It was my iliotibial band that was causing it and it took six weeks of excercising and stretching to put right. I continue to do the excercises and haven't looked back since. Mur Hi Mur, Had that exact same problem too when I first started hillwalking and agree with you that the more hills climbed ...

Re: A Gentle Amble with a Stat Attack after the Satmap Lesson...

All you folks seem a touch keen on the workings of Satmap; shame on you look at the views... Actually, I very rarely look at the Satmap because this old guy's only reason for walking the hills is for the views, and as I do that at a very relaxing pace (aye, slow), I can assure you that I see ...
