Lovely write up Ray, my wife and I were just discussing California (she wants to go to San Francisco early next year) it might be a good time to visit Yosemite  Love the photos of the falls and the trails look like they would suit Sarah very well (she's not one for scrambling) Always nice to ...

Re: Schiehallion: Hill of the Ancestor Spirits of the Caledo

Great report jimandandrea , Talking about the name Schiehallion , wether its fairies or spirits I don`t really know, but I do know and have seen strange sights on the peak. Re: Evaluating a tour guide

Hi there Wildwalk, I believe that unless you have never walked any distance before and have difficultty reading maps then a Guide might be useful and I am sure there are many good guides. But I believe that part of the adventure of doing a long distance walk is to walk making your own way with map a...

Re: West Highland Way - Avery wet May 2012

I think. If I had a pound for every time I put my cape on...

After walking up the Ben a couple of weeks earlier the wife and I decided to walk the Ring of Steall . Re: Dolomite Summer

Thanks Ray for sharing the info about Val Gardena. It looks very inviting. Enough for me to consider going there next year. I've literally just returned home from 2 weeks in the Sexten Dolomites. A great time was had with 1000m ascents most days with some exciting via ferrata thrown in. Will write ...

My wife and I have been to this area a few times and it always calls us back. The villages in the valley are p...
