Re: The hairy beast, the boxer and the damson spirit

Dave, I have to add to clarify to any blog readers that my right hand isn't severly jaundiced but just a bright yellow 'under-glove'. Ta Neil

Re: Moel Siabod

Dafydd, one day someone is going to tot up all our incidents of mislocation, forgotten/lost kit, food shortages and mountain acquired injuries and have to advise us to: STAY AT HOME! YOU ARE A RISK TO YOURSELVES AND OTHERS. It's all worth it, especially when I'm reminded in print that these fantasti...

Re: The Berwyns from Pistyll Rhaeadr

Good report on an area I love. Mostly because it is off the radar for most walkers who pass on by to Snowdonia or just do the Clwydians. I can look out from my living room window on the Berwyns and watch them transform with the seasons...beautifull. I still can't get the missus to go up there though...

Re: Ben Vorlich nr 283

As we say in Wales - llongyfarchiadau! Very well done Robert I am bitter with envy at your completion.
I was up Vorlich the very next day, you had better weather than me and certainly a better looking walking buddy.

Re: Capel Curig to Pen-y-Grwyd via the Glyders

A quality report of an area I know well. I agree with your observations along the route especially the descent from Glyder Fawr to Pen y Pass - difficult, to say the least.
As already noted a concerning picture of the baddly kitted out kids, what ever nationality.

Cold and confused on the Carneddau

The mountain weather forecast for Snowdonia area Sat 21st April was not a cheery one: heavy showers, cold and occasional blustery wind. Nothing unusual and nothing exciting so we’re still going to venture out. So I packed accordingly but minimally – light boots, spare hat and gloves, a warm top, ski...

Re: Lucky Snowdon Horseshoe

If you hadn't wore the thick winter vest what would have stopped the inflatable mattress you had stuffed down there from falling out (I thought you were going to photoshop the pictures of me that made me look flabby) Great report  S7, inflatable mattresses, deployed airbags or burst ...

Re: Canada - Door Jamb Mountain....A hill too far

ChrisW I read your comments here and there (and appreciated your 'post reply' on my adventures) but this is the first time I have checked out your posting. You do set something of a benchmark, with photos and text: top stuff. Mountain-peaks-too-far make for great tales of .......what if................

Lucky Snowdon Horseshoe

Weather forecasts for the Snowdon area for Saturday 14th April were mixed yet contradictory: hill fog, 80% clear tops, snow showers, freezing above 600m. This meant packing for every eventuality – crampons, ice axe and thick hairy vest. On arriving at the already filling car park at Pen-y-Pass for 0...

Re: Unfinished business and search for spectre

My friend that is a superbly edited bit of footage which a) makes me need to up my postings game and b) allows me to see what the heck Meall Ghaordie looks like. I did a boring straight up and down in near white out last year. You win some, you lose some. You have certainly won with this day out.
