Re: WH Summer Meet - 13-14 July 2018

Thanks for organising another great meet up Maja. Really enjoyed it and it was a cracking wee bunkhouse you booked. Kevin's quiz was great fun too. Even the weather didn't spoil the fun and I found it's just as much fun to go for a coastal walk as it is to be up in the hills. By the way, next time s...

Re: WH Summer Meet - 13-14 July 2018

Lee, Manda and I are going to be later arrivals on Friday. We've managed to rearrange our Inn Pinn climb from Sat to Fri afternoon to try to get the best weather. Prob won't be at the bunkhouse until mid evening.

The Mountain Goats v The Mullardoch Munros

Track_2018-07-01 051705_3949nodes.gpx Lee and I have done quite a few multiple munro days and weekends and had been planning this for 2 years, the Mullardoch Round. 12 munros in a day, the Holy Grail of multiple munro days, something which only a few people achieve and a challenge to test us to our...

Re: WH Summer Meet - 13-14 July 2018

Hi,

Any room at the Inn for Big Tommo, the wife (AmandaJMackenzie) and I for this weekend? If not I'll bring the tent and hope for good weather.

Cheers,

John.

Cloud and rain but still a great day on Beinn Eighe

Track_2017-09-09 173533.gpx It was time for the annual family get together at a cottage, this year's location was Gairloch, handily chosen so I could get back into Torridon should the weather give me a chance. The cottage had a cracking hill top position which meant I could see Skye out to the west...

Re: Ben Hope and the beaches of Durness

Stunning area!! My 2nd visit this far north and won't be my last :D 8) Were the weird flags still on the trig on Ben Hope? I got stuck on the cairn when I was there. It was also blowing snow around  I would agree it was an excellent quiz, very good choice of questions  No flags on the sum...

Ben Hope and the beaches of Durness

Track_2017-07-29 131222.gpx Like many I'd always assumed Ben Hope would be my last munro, so far from home and all on it's own. Then the Walk Highlands meet was arranged for the Kyle of Tongue, it would be rude not to go up there for a weekend of hiking, drinking and laughter! Lee and I's original ...

Re: The Mullardock round (12 Munros in a day)

Nice one Monty. Big Tommo and I were going to give this a go in June but the weekend we had chosen the weather was miserable from the Great Glen northwards. Now have to leave it till next year and hope the weather gods are on our side. Loved the sun rise pic.

Paths, where we're going you don't need paths....

Track_2017-07-08 191058.gpx The wife and I had looked at our calendars a while back and saw our summer weekends off together quickly filling up. We quickly booked off this weekend and one in August for some hill walking / chilling time. The plan was to get a Hobbit Hut somewhere and go "off gr...
