Re: Buachaille Etive Mor

Great pictures on a fabulous day....I should know because I was also on the Buachaille that day. After leaving the car park at 9.15 am we did Curved Ridge and were on the summit around 1.15pm, you were probably already along the ridge by then. We only saw about 6 others around and about that day. M...

Re: Buachaille Etive Mor

Thanks for all the comments folks :) Fantastic photos as always! Great report gets the old thumbs up from me. This is my current burning ambition, to climb Buachaille Etive Mor this year. I'm too chicken to climb it in snow, so It'll have to be a little later in the year, and due to my relative inex...

Buachaille Etive Mor

The problem with going for walks when I should be working is that for every hour I miss, I seem to have to spend two making it up. I'm not sure quite how that works. That is why it is only now that I've been through the pictures for a walk I did nearly two weeks ago. I think in future I will also ha...

Buachaille Etive Beag

After knackering my knee on Ben Starav and Meall na Fearna it was fate I suppose that we should be given a few days of perfect winter walking weather. The knee required some rest and gentle use in order to get better which meant hill walking was out. Fortunately I'm an idiot by nature, so I picked a...

Re: Meall na Fearna, Malky Style

Was just thinking about this one over the weekend and wondering if I could squeeze it in of an evening this year once the days get long enough. Have never quite been sure what's the best way to tackle it though and the logistics of add-ons. I think Malky's report may be getting another once over. :...

Re: Ben Ledi & Benvane

Thanks for the comments :) Ha ha ha  Great report! I've been walking for the past 47 years but I'm sure you're much better at it than me :( :( Are you sure I didn't meet you yesterday? Because there was a guy fitting that very description coming off Beinn a Chroin and he was very coy when I ask...

Re: Meall na Fearna, Malky Style

Thanks for the comments :) "beside the no parking sign" Glad you didn't encounter any more savage crocodiles - or crocodile activists 8) Perhaps your knee was screaming because it was trying to tell you something!!!....."I'm not ready" - more knee tlc needed Frogwell. Look ...

Meall na Fearna, Malky Style

I've been wanting to do this as a winter walk for some time, and while the weather wasn't as good as promised (no, really), it was still pretty decent. I parked at the top of Glen Artney beside the no parking sign and was on the off just after 10:00. The first 2.5 miles of the walk are a straightfor...

Ben Ledi & Benvane

This is a report from a walk done few weeks ago - my first walk of the year. Well, not actually the first walk of the year, since I walk most days round and about home, but my first walk where I got in the car and went somewhere else with the intent of walking up a hill. I chose Ben Ledi as it's not...

Re: A Winter Wildcamp on Carnedd Llywelyn.

I bought some extra cord for doing that mod as well, but haven't got round to doing it yet. Although I do find the sidelines at the right angle helped anyway. I never used to take the cross poles with me, but then after getting caught in some pretty substantial un-forecast wind in Assynt and on Loch...

Re: A Winter Wildcamp on Carnedd Llywelyn.

Do you always have your tent flysheet that loose? I always tighten mine up about as tight as I can get it without ripping. I'm still learning with this tent...only the 3rd time I have used it. I thought I had tightened it up enough, but you are the 2nd person to comment, so obviously I did not. I m...
