Re: Down with the Royals, up on the Coyles!

Nice ending to a challenging day  - good to see there was no damage from your "face planting"

Re: Where's the picture ? - Scotland (part 3)

Absolutely spot on, rockhopper  After posting, I'd a feeling I'd posted this one previously (or one very similar)! Thanks - don't know but with my memory I'd never have remembered it anyway :silent:  I have a very similar photo taken in autumn when walking from ML to camp high o...

Re: Water bottle pouches

Like you, for day walks I use a bladder. However, for multi day camping trips, I prefer a bottle as it's easier to refill with filtered stream/loch water. I use an old 1.5l lemonade bottle with a SmarTube or similar - couple of links below. Effectively works the same as the bladder but the bottle si...

Re: Spectres and snowbows - above the cloud on Bynack More

Great conditions and some fantastic photos - lucky you ! We're generally in this area in Summer or occasionally Spring/Autumn but not Winter so far - might need to rethink that for conditions like this.

Re: Bin of Cullen

Not an area I know but a good result for an early start.
Hope the flu's on the mend - I have a recipe for a hot toddy which I take just before going to bed when I feel cold/flu symptoms starting - the cold still takes a couple of weeks to clear but I sleep well....

Re: Glendevon 3 again

A nice wee trio of local-ish hills despite the occasional trudge - would agree that there does seem to be more storm damage around than in previous years.

Re: A Snowy Day on The Storr

A great set of photos  - lovely conditions and light quality, no wonder you were so happy with it. On my (lengthy) to do list but probably not a winter trip for me unfortunately.

Re: Beinn Donachain

dp, GD and wm - thanks for the comments - much appreciated :) Good little camp spot near the top of the hard track. Coincidentally I had originally been looking at a camping trip in this general area for several Grahams/Fionas but in the end just opted for this on its own. Still considering how to t...

Re: I Fought The Law (and The Law Won)

Thanks for the reminder - you've got me thinking again about going south for the shorter winter days especially when they involve less distance in the car - just need to get my thinking cap back on

Re: Heading for the fort

Yup  that looks a nice area for a "blowing the cobwebs" away type walk around that time of year especially on such nice days
