Re: An Caisteal & Beinn a'Chroin

Isn't it great to have so many recent reports when you plan a walk, along with the weather forecasts you have a pretty accurate idea of the specific hill conditions before you go. Great site!

Ben Vorlich - winter

Having done Ben Vane 4 days earlier I thought I'd nip up Ben Vorlich today to complete the 4 Munros in this area. Another beautiful day, perfect for a wee walk! Parked at Inveruglas Visitor Centre then followed the same route as the approach for Ben Vane, along the road, through the padlocked gate t...

Re: Ben Vane

Thanks for the nice comments everyone!

Glenrothes - Yes you can cycle in a fair bit. In fact I met Robert Phillips, who commented above, coming down as I was still heading up and he had done just that. I reckon it might cut 15 - 20 minutes off each end of the walk.

Quite Nice? What an understatement, that cloud inversion is amazing.

Ben Vane - winter

Weather forecast was excellent so headed up to Inveruglas for a first time ascent of Ben Vane. Parked at the visitor centre, along the main road, over the locked gate and up the tarmac road towards Coiregrogain. Ben-Vane-01a.jpg Looking South West (left) from the road, a good view of A' Chrois. Ben-...

Re: Beinn Narnain & Beinn Ime

Thanks Eddie!

The route up Beinn Ime was really easy, we swapped axes for poles at the bottom and it was just an easy walk all the way up. It will vary depending on snow conditions but I can't imagine it being much of a problem, maybe get advice from some of the more experienced walkers on the forum.

Re: Beinn Narnian & Beinn Ime

Thanks for the nice comments everyone! Just did a quick edit...was 8 hours not 10...sorry. My mate's gps had added a previous cycle run of his to our time, didn't realise at first. Stretch: Sorry, only 8 hours but still felt like an epic. Milesy: Yes the windslab was everywhere and worth a watching,...
