Conival and Ben More Assynt, October 2017

Much better weather today, although still a bit windy and some cloud at the summits. Also did the top to the South East of Ben More Assynt - slightly dodgy scramble past a sort of pinnacle half way along. Met a father and son on way there and also on way back. A really nice day in the mountains. #48...

Ben Klibreck, October 2017

#47 First day of holiday - drove up from Edinburgh. The weather was rainy and windy, and the ground very wet and boggy, so not a great walk! Had to use goggles due to the rain and high winds (Hurricane Ophelia?). Still, it's done now!

Lochnagar, October 2017

#46 With Kev Whitson and Alan Scamell. Nice drive up but weather terrible for entire walk - we were going to do the circuit of 5 but turned back after Lochnagar as too cold and wet. Gale force wind and rain - we really shouldn't have gone up to be honest! But a good learning experience.

Meall Greigh, Meall Garbh & An Stuc - September 2017

Just me and "wee" James - his first 3 Munros! He stayed over on the saturday night and we set off early on Sunday morning. The forecast had been good, but unfortunately, apart from the first 15 minutes it rained for the entire walk - and no views from the summits. We were totally fine scam...

Carn Gorm, Meall Garbh, Carn Mairg & Creag Mhor

Went up with Domenico (in his car) and met Kev Whitson and Alan Scammel in car park just before 8am. We set off at about 8:15am. Didn't go too fast and really enjoyed the walk - although the wind was quite severe at times. We did the 4 Munros and also the 3 tops nearby (1 of which was on route anywa...

Buachaille Etive Mor with Callum (June 2017)

Picked up Callum at 7am - we left a little late as I had a problem with the left window wiper! Luckily Callum had a spanner set. Had a good talk with Callum about anxiety as I'm going through a bad time and Callum also struggles with it too. The climb was great even though there was cloud at the sum...

Broad Law and 3 other Donalds! May 2017

Drove down, and left (Ben's) bike at the end point, then drove on to the start. Did Talla Cleuch Head first, then Broad Law and then pretty much the standard route after that - except that I also did the "top" Notman Law. At the end, cycled the bike back up to the car but it was harder tha...

Meall Ghaordaidh - May 2017

#37 Again, on my own! Did this one after the Tarmachan Ridge. Great weather but I was wearing my Paramo trousers as rain had been forecast - I was so hot! Also got the sun on my face as hadn't taken any sun cream. Met a few folk on the walk which was surprising as this was a real trudge - to be hone...

Tarmachan Ridge - May 2017

#36. On my own! Great weather but I was wearing my Paramo trousers as rain had been forecast - I was so hot! Did the little scramble on the descent between Meall Garbh and Beinn an Eachan. Also did the "extra" top at the end (Creag na Caillich), then back to the bealach.

Ben Lawers 4 - May 2017

Met Domenico at 6am in the Charwood car park and we drove up (in his car). Got to car park at 7:40am and met Kevin and Alan (Scammel). Zuzana arrived in a taxi at about 8am. Headed of at 8:15am, and got up Beinn Ghlas and Ben Lawers ok. Came down then went down the low path and had lunch near the Be...

Glas Maol Munros with Zuzana, May 2017

Met Zuzana at Fairmilehead at 6am, then drove up, stopping off at the McDonalds at Perth. Started out at 8:45am, weather great all day. Very windy and poor visibility at the top of the first 2 Munros but then it cleared and we had great views after that. Cut down to the road at the end to save time ...

Ben Vorlich and Stuc a'Chroin - May 2017

Really nice sunny day! Picked up Gavin at Hunter's Tryst and we drove up to the start point set out at 8.20am. Ben Vorlich was straightforward but I had to talk Gavin into the scamble up Stuc a'Chroin - but we managed it in the end :-) Great views from both summits. Back to car just after 1.50pm and...

Beinn Ghlas, Ben Lawers, An Stuc

With Toni and Alex - their first 3 Munros! Great day, despite changeable weather and summit of Ben Lawers and An Stuc in cloud cover. Had already climbed Beinn Ghlas and Ben Lawers, but not An Stuc - Munro 28 for me :-)

Blackhope Scar, April 2017

With Domenico. Sunny day - great walk but a bit boggy in places. The wind turbines are pretty scary when you stand in line with the blades!

Ben Cruachan, March 2017

#27 Probably shouldn't have gone due to the crappy weather. It was raining lightly as I set out. Got up to the dam and then past the reservoir ok. Felt a little nervous as I ascended up into the snow level, where the rain also changed to light snow. Visibility quite low from here on. The walk became...
