Re: Ben A'an

My favourite is definitely 'Graham Tops of Hewitts' - although I had to look it up to work out where it was :)

Re: High Street at last

I can see that - I'm glad I finally went up that way, and not from Thornthwaite Crag or Mardale Ill Bell as I would have done earlier (and I'm glad I didn't go down that way!). It's just a long way in if you don't have a car - there are obviously easier places than Shap to get to High Street from, b...

High Street at last

Shap may have not been the most sensible place to start this walk, but having committed to it for the day before, that's where I was - and if I wanted to get up Rough Crag, it's not really any easier to get to Mardale from anywhere else. So after a bit of a wander round Shap, taking a few photos of ...

Great Hetha

Three of us this time, as usual on the way home from a Newcastle dance. Parked at Hethpool, along the road until the path cuts up the hill, and up to the top. Back down towards Little Hetha, although we missed the path a bit. Very pretty surroundings - I might have done a proper report if I hadn't f...

Re: Saving a draft route

I'm not sure pasting in pictures, because they probably have to be uploaded using the magic blue button down there.

But writing and saving text either in word or in the window here shouldn't be a problem - just don't hit submit instead of save like I did recently :)

Changing clocks

I seem to see forum posts with times in BST if I'm logged in, and in GMT if I'm logged out - I think this has actually been true all summer, but I found it less disconcerting to see posts from the past than the future!
Any idea why? :)

Thanks

Jen

Re: Where's the pic (England) v4

I really shouldn't guess, because I've nothing to post :)

I haven't looked too hard, so it should be easy - where's this?

Steel Fell from Dunmail Raise?

I got as far as working out that it wasn't Nethermost Pike after the first clue!

Re: Where's the pic (England) v4

I ruled out seats because I can always find one - grass or heather or rock!

Re: Where's the pic (England) v4

The heather looked centrally to me, but I can't find a name like that there. Plenty of names like that in the east, but it doesn't look like it. So... Hen Comb? :)

The far far east - Branstree and friends

I'd originally planned to do these four as the second half of a kind of Longsleddale round in April, but having been blown down into the valleys then, and not really wanting to retrace my steps (or to pay the Haweswater Hotel's prices for a second time), Shap seemed like an interesting alternative. ...
