Re: Can I have a "P" please Bob - Scotland (2nd edition)

No, not a marathon championship cheat. They don't make hay here anymore. Are you going to give us a hint, or let us stew in our ignorance? That was a clue, and Rohan has nearly cracked it , before it moved to M , it was BCC. Oh, and by the way, cricket is often played on the Meadows, but not...

Re: Can I have a "P" please Bob - Scotland (2nd edition)

Its just not cricket (Aussie version), It's just not cricket (BBC version), applies to this MCC.

Re: Favourite photos of the last few months

Taken on the 25 April this picture seemed to me to be a metaphor for the restrictions of lockdown: https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/50590516722_c6a2a21122_b.jpg It is a gate at Corston, up the Morton Road from East Calder / Midcalder and was on a circular walk from home over Corston Hill (all of ...

Best Malt is almost always found in Round Whisky Bottles. Don't imagine many others put it in Water Bottles?

You might be surprised at the containers used!

Re: Reading advice

Agree with all the above, but why not try listening or watching some Gaelic programmes, Radio nan Gaidheal, BBC Alba or many You Tube videos will give you a flavour of how the language sounds and some of the culture.

Re: Can I have a 'P' please Bob - Scotland

Well spotted Tim, absolutely spot on. The next clue was going to be designed by PD (Peter Drummond) and so on. Ben Alder had a rather sad end, after withdrawal in 1953, and the last Small Ben in service, it was earmarked for preservation, but eventually scrapped in 1967 because it was not in 'origin...

Re: Can I have a 'P' please Bob - Scotland

Not the Bank of Airdrie, but I might come up with something just as obscure, but not this time.

The D I mentioned was a company based at (another clue) P.

Not Beinn Alligin was a Superb Beast, but part of it is on the right lines. Another clue: BA was built by D.

Re: Can I have a 'P' please Bob - Scotland

Time for the first clue: BA was a SB is just a statement of fact, but to most users of this website would appear to be an oxymoron. Hope that helps.

Re: Can I have a 'P' please Bob - Scotland

Thanks Tim, I was doing something completely different when I looked at your clues and hurriedly put down what I could remember, as I haven't been getting much of a look in recently. My favourite Messerschmitts were the bubble cars with tandem seats in the 1950s-60s, there used to be one in occasion...
