Re: Photobucket / Flickr

Freewheelin If you just want to add a visual walk report containing just a few words but also showing off your photos then that is fine - and it saves there being a separate place for just photos. As usual, select the appropriate routes/or hills when adding the report so that the photos can be found...

Re: Beinn Dorain and Beinn an Dothaidh

Great photos and a cracking first report there thomasp67. The views over Rannoch Moor from Beinn an Dothaidh are stunnning, aren't they? I'm amazed that there is so little snow really, not so long ago it was all down to low levels; this winter has been weird.

Re: mount blair

Thankyou - the pics look like they are good ones - great weather - but they are a bit small :o You can put them on at anything upto 640 pixels across. the toposcope had plates removed showing the munros in its sites Toposcope? I'm intrigued - I'm going to have to climb this hill now, transmitter on ...

Re: Ben Chonzie Navigation

I think that's a Munro that most people leave for a day of clag - no-one really knows what it looks like  Thanks for the mention of the second fence - I'll put something in the route description.

Re: Kintyre

Hi there Yes - I'm still in Kintyre (with pretty appaling internet access so anyone I haven't got back to yet - sorry but will be normal next week). It is indeed a lovely area with far more to offer than I'd expected - I'd never been down here before. Suffice to say there will be lots of walks here ...

Re: Beavers

One thing to remember is that they are European beavers, which don't fell trees in anything like the same way as their North American cousins we are more familiar with from TV. Apparently these beavers will 'coppice' the woodlands and make them more diverse for other wildlife. And yes, the pools are...

Re: Feature request - list new walks

Hi Ewan

Thanks for the suggestions - keep 'em coming!

There isn't any way to do this at the moment, but it is a good idea. What we will start doing is putting a post on the announcements boards listing new walks when we put them on.

Cheers

Re: Ben Nevis/ Carn Mor Dearg Arete advice

Yes, you need to be able to navigate, and also be fit as its a big route and is much more strenuous. But the arete itself doesn't call for any special skills; just normal hillwalking with a bit of hands. If you decide to go for it, good luck :D

Re: A Bhuidheaneach Bheag

Balsporran Cottages (see B&B listings) is a remarkable location really - must be one of the higher B&B's!

We walked from there once and there was this great ice-castle outside. It must have taken ages to build.
