Turtlehead Peak Ascent, Nevada USA

After a short drive out of Las Vegas I arrived at Red Rock Canyon park which after paying a fee you can enter a scenic drive. Along this scenic drive are various car parks with trail heads to explore this park. This particular day I chose the Turtlehead peak trail as it takes a reasonable amount of ...

Re: Blencathra via Sharp Edge.

Wonderful pictures Paulo and you make Sharp edge look really thrilling and challenging to say the least. :o I had to turn back recently in September due to the wind and drizzle, I felt a little chicken at the time as there was a couple of braver men than me going over. I am glad I did now tho, dont...

Re: Snowdon Horseshoe via Crib Goch

Nice one. It's a fine round isn't it? Shame about the clag but you got some nice shots all the same. That's an interesting side-view of Crib Goch - where was it taken from? Re. the title of your report; if it isn't via Crib Goch then it isn't the Snowdon Horseshoe! Good point, it would be ha...

Snowdon Horseshoe in the clag.

I decided to do a quick hop over to Snowdonia to attempt the Snowdon Horseshoe on a few days off work. I sort of had an idea what was in store on Crib Goch but in reality it can be even more daunting. The day I did this in August had low cloud and a very early start made it so I had it to myself. Th...

Gran Valle and Cofete, Fuerteventura.

This was a very difficult and long walk for the fact I extended it to walk back to Morro Jable due to very little options for public transport. I started where I got the taxi to drop me off which was at the cemetery near the entrance to Gran Valle. Taxi's will take you no further due to it turning i...

Pico de la Zarza ascent, Fuerteventura.

I started this walk from the Ventura Shopping centre which is on the main road between Esquinzo and Morro Jable. The streets leading behind this shopping centre eventually lead to a path/minor road which is signposted for Pico de la Zarza. The walk itself is a long out and back with the only steeper...

Costa Calma to Esquinzo beach walk, Fuerteventura.

After a first day relaxing in the sun I decided my second day in Fuerteventura would involve some exercise. For this walk I caught a taxi from Esquinzo to Costa Calma with the idea of walking al the way back along the beach. It was a mix of wide beaches and rocky coastline, all of it impressive and ...

Arthur's Seat, Edinburgh.

Now this is what I was looking forward to in Edinburgh, a little but very steep walk to the top of Arthur's Seat. I wasn't expecting it to be so steep!!!!! It really is an adventure for a city center walk. On our day here the weather had closed in a little so there were no spectacular views. This in...

Allermuir Hill walk.

I decided on this little walk because of doing a walk in the Pentlands a few years ago and really enjoying it. This did not disappoint it offers great views in all directions. I especially like the views over the rest of the Pentland Hills. It leaves me wishing I had somewhere like this on my doorst...

Calton Hill, Edinburgh.

After a busy few hours up Arthurs Seat then Edinburgh Castle we decided for a little walk up Calton Hill for more views. We enjoyed this little walk which is easily the quickest way to gain great views over Edinburgh. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wHQts4yVIQ8 our_route.gpx P1010160.JPG P1010162.JP...

Re: Old Town Edinburgh at night.

Good photos, an interesting walk. I've done similar on a Saturday night, but kept getting sucked into multiple loud and well lit buildings serving a selection of fine ales... Haha Mal Grey that nearly happened to me also. There were some excellent looking places to have a drink or two enjoying live...

Old Town Edinburgh at night.

Whilst on a little city trip to Edinburgh I had decided on walking around the Old Town but due to it being crowded with tourist, opted for a night time adventure. I think I made a good decision, it is so much quieter at night but leaves me thinking "where do all the tourists go"? https://w...

Cleethorpes and Tetney Lock walk

Having looked out of the window to see the sun shining a little I thought maybe I should do a local walk this time. Sometimes it is easy to forget the scenery that is local and I am lucky to live on a part of the coast that has relatively unspoiled stretches of coastline. https://www.youtube.com/wat...
