Re: The Affric Kintail Way with (almost) Sgurr an Airgid

Thanks for the great report - helped me to decide to grab 3 days to do the cannich to morvich bit when the weather looked ok. People had evaporated by end of October - just saw three in three days. And the landscape has turned golden brown from the lush green of your trip.

The Skye Trail in 8 leisurely days: video log

Skye trail in 8 leisurely days in May 2015: video log What do next after the Cape Wrath Trail? Seeing the accounts, but especially the pictures and time lapse photography of the skye trail elsewhere on this site from mountainstar and maustindesign provided the answer. I planned to take a leisurely ...

Re: Cape Wrath trail May 2015 part 1

great report - love the hardcore river crossings. I was so lucky with weather last year when I did the CWT last year and as a result I had no idea how bad it could - be - this year on the skye trail I did get a glimpse of what you describe here - and like you ended up going in fully clothed and hopi...

Re: Papa Smurf's Skye Trail 2015 - Part 2 Portree to Broadfo

Really enjoying your account - I was a week or so behind you going the other direction! A wonderful walk with stunning places to camp - generally easy going until the wind and rain hits you.

Re: Cape Wrath trail 2014: video log, reflections and FAQ

Thanks mountainstar, annoying to get back and find the bug in the lens, can edit it off the photos but not the video sadly... - have a new phone now. I'm going to do the Skye trail next year inspired by your brilliant report - so no doubt I'll be punished for such good weather on cwt by foul weather...

Re: Cape Wrath trail 2014: video log, reflections and FAQ

Thanks Helen - really helpful - I clicked on the URL button before and it didn't like it. All seems to be working.

Frankieman - hope that fixes it.

Frankieman - thats seriously annoying. I can usually get it on 3g on the smartphone - and vimeo is a pretty good site so hopefully you are just having a random bad bandwidth day...

Cape Wrath trail 2014: video log, reflections and FAQ

MY VIDEO LOG There are so many excellent walk reports and stunning photographs it seemed futile to add to them. Instead I made a video log - which runs for about 30 minutes, essentially a day-by-day log - (warms up after day 2). I did it mainly to show my kids what I did for the 22 days I disappear...

kintyre way - camping options

Really enjoyable walk - better way marked than posts on other sites led me to believe - only really needed a map on the final day when visibility was down to 20 metres driving rain and I couldn't see the posts on open ground. A couple of posts on the final stretch to southend could have benefited fr...
