Re: Kinpurney Hill and Monument

I know these hills really well as up there most weekends with Corrie dog. You can actually walk to Kinpurney hill from the Balkello car park if you fancy a longer, different route - about a 3 hour round trip or 4-5 if you take in the other hills as well. Head up towards Auchterhouse hill (lovely vie...

Re: Lost dog on A' Mharconaich area

I know it will be very difficult not to think the worst but dogs can go missing for a long time and Benji could still be alive and well somewhere. Given the amount of searching that has been done in the area that he went missing, I would suggest focusing on a poster/FB campaign to keep Benji’s detai...

Re: Glen Coe Scrambles

What a great report! I have 'fond' memories of scrambling over these routes with an ex. Let's just say, me and Dougie have a lot in common!

Re: Lost dog on A' Mharconaich area

I think a Facebook campaign is certainly worth trying. I've shared Benji's details via my page as have friends and Walk Highlands. I also asked HelptoRehome Scotland to run a campaign via their FB page https://www.facebook.com/h2rscotland but they need Jac or Ronnie to ask them to do this as Benji's...

Re: Murders at Nanga Parbat (news)

Saw this via a climbing buddy although not much coverage in the press. Very sad and shocking news. I have fond memories of trekking in that area and still hope to return one day. The local people I met were so gentle and supportive it makes this violence all the more senseless :(

Re: Lost dog on A' Mharconaich area

I too have been checking in the hope that Benji has been found safe and well. I can't imagine how difficult this must be for you both but, as a fellow dog owner, I'd be doing exactly as you've done. Try to remain positive. Dogs are remarkably resilient and he may still turn up and wonder what all th...

Re: More sun, inversions & magical hills - Day 6 Scotland 20

Just stumbled across your Torridon reports while taking a break from writing (aka looking for an excuse to be distracted). Wow! What perfect weather for these stunning hills. Love the reports, love the photos but, most of all, I love Monty! :D

Re: Lost dog on A' Mharconaich area

So sorry to hear about Benji. I've shared his photo and description from the Lost Dogs site on the Help2Rehome Scotland Facebook page. They've had a lot of success in finding lost dogs; often days, weeks or longer after they went missing. My friend's dog ran off and was missing for over a week in th...

Re: Walking with our dog

I walked the WHW with my dog a few years ago and stayed in dog friendly B&Bs/hotels. PM me if you'd like further info and I'll rake out the details. It's a great route! :)

Re: Controversial Confessions

I once climbed the same hill twice on the same day and didn't notice until I was back at the top
