Strolling Down the Lairig Ghru

It was the weekend of the WH Braemar meet and a chance to catch up with like-minded mountain folk. Leithy Suburbs had whipped us all into shape and even arranged some cracking weather  Walkaboot had suggested the Lairig Ghru as a wee warm up on the Friday - I was in and Corrie dog was too. ...

Re: Summer Meet, August 10th-12th

Big thanks to all for a fab weekend! :D and especially Dougie for organising us  Sorry I didn't get a chance to meet all of you at the quiz but Janet had worn me out on the Lairig Ghru  I still haven't recovered from the knicker incident :silent:

Re: Mayar and Driesh, but Corrie Fee is the star

What a beautiful description of my favourite Corrie (after my dog Corrie of course!) I never tire of seeing that view of Corrie Fee as you emerge from the forest. I've lost count of the number of times I've climbed these hills but Corrie Fee keeps drawing me back for more. Both Munros are ...

Re: Birkenkofel, Sexten Dolomites. A sting in the Tail.

Oh wow! Fantastic photos :D Love the Dolomites though haven't been back for years. Which range are you heading to in September? The Brenta are definitely worth a visit!

Congratulations on reaching the big 40! Beautiful photos there. I've climbed these hills several times but never had views as good as those

Sunshine, Showers and Scary Ducks!

Deuchary Hill is one of my favourite little hills, climbed many times with Corrie dog often taking in Loch Ordie. But Loch Ordie has nothing on Lochan na Beinne. This hidden gem is much less frequently visited and is a tranquil spot in a stunning location. Today we decided (or, to be honest, I decid...

Re: Summer Meet, August 10th-12th

I'll switch to camping  Hey Paul, no need. I've just managed to find a dog friendly B&B so the bunkhouse will be dog free :D Corrie's such a big, hairy thing she was bound to get in the way anyway  Dougie - if anyone has not yet paid for the bunkhouse and you won't be out of pocke...

Re: Summer Meet, August 10th-12th

Can anyone give me a lift in the direction of Glasgow on the Sunday? Share petrol costs :) I'm heading up on the Thursday to walk the Lairig Ghru on the Friday. Anyone else who fancies it is very welcome to join me, madasa mongoose, and madasa mongoose's mate. and Corrie girl :D Which reminds me. I...

Re: Cape Wrath Trail Part Three

What a great report! Lots of useful detail and interesting wee anecdotes  Some beautiful photos too, particularly the early morning shots of Glen Affric. I've been dithering about doing the CWT for years. Plans are now afoot!
