Poke a bootlace through the middle and hang from your harness. Once fully frozen they make quite a good alternative to a large hex. Thaw out in your sleeping bag overnight et voila- breakfast!

Buffalo mitts. Nothing under them, nothing over them. Toasty hands at the cost of some dexterity. You can still use poles / axe with them though.
