Re: An Stuc,How bad ?

Cheers for the info folks. Much appreciated. We're gonna head up on Saturday morning,go and try the Glen Lyon horseshoe thingy. Then camp at Cruachan Farm site. Hopefully on Sunday we'll be fit enough for Lawers and onto An Stuc and onwards. If we get to An Stuc and decide not to head right over we ...

An Stuc,How bad ?

Hopefully heading to the Lawers area this weekend. Had planned on doing Beinn Ghlas and Ben Lawers ending the walk there. But after lookin at the map and if we can get another car to leave at hotel, thinking of doing the 5. However the only section that is bothering me is An Stuc. The descent to Meal...

Re: Saturday 0

Sorry to hear the Viewranger App let you down. I've never used mine as a guide. Just a check on my position and visibly checking how far to go.It seems to work well for that. I've been disorientated on a local hill that i've been up many times and the feeling of not knowing where you exactly are isn...

Re: Epic day in Glen Lyon

Epic indeed. Great report. We were almost heading to these Munros yesterday but decided on something a bit closer to home. We were just going to do the both from the dam,but this route adds that bit extra. Will keep this in mind for our visit.

Cheers.

Argyll Double

We'd been lookin at several different hills for the weekend. Then a last minute entry and recommendation from a mate brought us to Beinn a'Chochuill and Beinn Eunaich for the day. Picked up Martin 'Mears' in town and we headed to meet Dave at parking area at bridge. The rain, sleat and snow on the dr...

Re: Which GPS

I have the eTrex 10. Got it from Cotswolds who did a price match for me. Good piece of kit so far. Basic but that's why I opted for this model. If you want a fancy coloured screen with fully loaded maps then this one is not for you. If you want a device that gives you an accurate grid ref that you ...

CSB Sgorach Mor(Cowal)

Sitting around on standby,no chance of ice or snow...... the local hills were calling. Another hill on my gritting route that i've passed many many times. Wee post on the Facebook page and we had 4 Cowal Summit Baggers ready for the hills. Met Mr T and his dads dog Bonnie at the junction of the B836...
