Re: Beinn an t-Sidhean, Strathyre walk

Bit confused by this - you've marked tagged your report as being Beinn Each, but titled it with Beinn an t-Sidhean? You might want to edit which you have tagged, or edit your title. We have walked the Beinn an t-Sidhean route early in 2020, and rewrote the description then - we feel it is basically ...

Re: Maps not loading

The map server was overloaded last night by more of the bulk download attempts. It is running fine today though - so you only have an issue with being blocked if they are still not working.

Re: Maps not loading

Larry, assuming you haven't tripped the firewall, they are loading now as far as I can see. I've explained in another thread the map server is under great strain from massive illegal bulk downloads (though software like Maverick or Mobile Atlas Creator, which let people bulk hit tiles and leave othe...

Re: No maps on samsung galaxy tablet

If you have this problem just on one device or browser, it's likely to be an issue with a corrupted cache file. Try hard refreshing (shift f4 in chrome, for example) If you have this problem on all your devices at one location (ie home or work), it seems more likely you have been blocked by the fire...

Re: Tagged hills vanishing

OK, been through the code and found a couple of bugs that meant some hills (but not all) would vanish if you edited a report, or previewed it, sorry.

Both those issues should now be resolved.

Tagged hills are still not saved along with drafts though (so don't bother to tag until ready to post)

Re: Tagged hills vanishing

Thank you for looking into it - the hills do seem to have stopped vanishing when making an edit, which was the most disconcerting thing, They shouldn't vanish when you edit. However, if you select to tag your report to a walk route, all the hills are reset to the ones included in that walk route. S...

Re: Tagged hills vanishing

Sorry about this. I have been looking into it with regards to changing this. The mountain and route tags on walk reports are stored against the topic in the topic table in our database. Unfortunately, drafts are not in the topic table at all - they are stored elsewhere. This means that coming up wit...

Coronavirus and moderation

There has been much discussion of the government guidance on coronavirus. We have no idea whether the guidance is correct and sensible; it's a hugely complex and serious situation in which we have no expertise. We do, however, have a duty to let people know what the official guidance is. At the star...

Re: Go Outdoors face administration

Overnight stays away from home - including camping - are against the lockdown guidance in every UK country at the moment. Single person households are allowed to form a bubble which enables them to be regarded as a member of another household - so that household becomes part of their home. To respec...
