Re: Ben Rinnes

The weather here yesterday was absolutely appallingly wet and windy so glad to hear someone got out - even if it did cost you a glove

Re: Mud, Mud, Glorious Mud

Thanks for that Mairi and sorry about your walk - alot of Forestry walks seem to get really churned up at this time of year - especially if there's any work going on. Hopefully it will recover in the spring :D

Re: Gillaval Glas Round (half of) - aka The Germans

:D

I've only been to Harris once - and then was just cycling round it. We camped on Traigh Iar and enjoyed a perfect sunset - complete with dolphins leaping in the surf just offshore.

Looking forward to getting over there to all those wonderful-looking hills :D

Re: New Waterproof

I've worn Sprayway Torridon jackets for years but so many people keep recommending Paramo that I'm tempted for next time.

Hills in England and Wales

Walkhighlands is a Scottish website and we aim to provide the ultimate resource for walking north of the border. However many of our users (50%) live in England and Wales. Although they come to the site because they enjoy walking in Scotland, they obviously walk nearer home in England and Wales too....

Re: The Arrochar Alps - aka Bumbling About in the Mist!

This report proves words are just as good as pictures - enjoyed it :D . You sound very unlucky - I remember a weeks holiday based at Garve when the weather was mixed. Every night it poured with rain to end with a slightly drizzly morning first thing and then great sunshine during the day - so I thin...

Re: Arran - A'Chir - Coward's Route!

Really enjoyed this report. A'Chir was the one summit I kept away from when we went to Arran and you've shown it to be perfectly straightforward. Will have a go when I go back 8)

Re: Kirk Fell

I reckon these could be your best photos yet 8) - I love the first shot that brings back memories from when I was living at Wasdale Head - and the Gable glowing red and the sunset ones. Shame we don't have a sponsor to provide prizes for the England and Wales trip reports forum yet as this would hav...

Re: Hello & Advice

Hi and welcome to the Forum! - and thanks for your kind comments  It's a bit tricky to know what sort of difficulty of walk would suit you. Are you wanting to climb the mountains? I think a big difference from hiking in the US or Canada is that the walking routes on Skye are not waymarked or s...

Re: Wales - Glasgwm 30 Dec 08

Enjoyed all three of your Wales reports. This one was the pic of them with the great photos - and I have to confess I'd never heard of Glasgwm - clearly need to bone up on Wales. I've only ever spent a single weekend there, to do the Welsh 3000's.

Re: Hi - yet another new start

We certainly hope to add walks like Poulouriscaig - hopefully we'll do a little feature page on the Strathnaver clearances. I'm guessing that that is the sort of place people were cleared to from inland places such as Rosal. If you think you could help in some way - and are willing (much appreciated...

Re: Hi - yet another new start

We're working on Sutherland north of Kylesku on the west coast, the north coast and Caithness this spring - together with Cowal, Knapdale and Kintyre in the south. Most the routes we have around Lairg, Golspie, Brora etc. have actually been added just last week :D though we kept getting freezing fog...

Re: Hi - yet another new start

Hi Leanachan and welcome! We do try to feature walks of all kinds and not just hills.

Visiting all the brochs sounds quite a challenge... there must be hundreds

Re: Hi

Hi Ged and welcome to the site! As you say, EasyGPS lists waypoints in alphabetical order on the screen. However the waypoints are also set up as a route (you should see this marked on the graphical display on EasyGPS - the line shown will join up the waypoints in the correct order). So it should wo...
