Great stuff - I'm a bit of a Glen Feshie fan

Lochan an-tSluic is a really nice place to camp too!

Kind Regards

Ailsa Craig - big air and deep water

My friend Douglas and I had a plan to do a day's sea kayaking and hillwalking "somewhere in the Firth of Clyde area" - which gives considerable scope! When our available days coincided with a short period of light winds we exchanged texts and a phone call during one afternoon and arranged ...

Benaquhallie - another wee one with a wide view

Benaquhallie is just 10 minutes drive from home - in fact I can see the hill from the end of the road but for some reason haven't previously climbed it - which turns out to have been a mistake...... I've tried before to walk over all the high ground from Tillyfourie on the A944 over the Corennie Moo...

Re: Amongst the Monadh Ruaidh

Great stuff Alastair, what a super trip.

I keep banging on to folk that these are the hills for long trips, but you have to go to find out!

Re: Amazing Corrie Fee

Oh this is lovely Sarah!

In rushing for summits, these places are often bypassed and it's great to slow down and spend some time in corries to absorb a bit of their special nature....

Thanks for posting

Mona Gowan round - a view fit for a Queen (or a goat)

A gloriously warm day with a light breeze. Sod the gardening, I thought a local hill would be a better option  Twenty minutes drive from home and I turned off the A944 at the Culfork turning and parked a kilometer or so up the road in a cleared area with space for several cars. http://i466.pho...

Re: Blairdenon

That looks a really good walk Sarah, little trodden despite being on the edge of a pretty well populated area. My daughter lives not too far from there - might be one to do next time I'm down that way!

Great first mono image by the way, very atmospheric

Kind Regards

Re: Mount Battock from Glen Dye

Hi Si,

Blimey, that posh cabin wasn't there last time I was up Clachnaben! It looks like the tracks have been, ahem, "improved" too?

Shooting for the "convenience" generation of Gun I guess ?

Still a good hill though....

Kind Regards

The colour purple - a short wander up Mount Blair

Whilst travelling home from Perthshire, I had a couple of hours spare and as it was a nice day decided on Mount Blair for a quick wander. The B951 road from the A93 to Kirriemuir is currently (Aug 2013) closed at the A93 junction for what looks to be lengthy improvement works, there's an alternative...

Re: An atmospheric afternoon on Coiliochbhar Hill

Thanks all for your comments, it really was a cracker of a day; and all the more pleasing since it had been so grey and unpromising in the morning. Ben, there isn't a track shown on the 1:25K map (sheet 405), though there is obviously some form of access as there's a forest road behind the gate at t...

Re: Findhorn Gorge - Dicing with Death in the Darnaway Fores

Wow, cracking stuff!

I must admit, that boardwalk and "shoogly bridge" would have turned me back too! :wtf:

An atmospheric afternoon on Coiliochbhar Hill

On a cold and franky unpromising January day, with heavy snow forecast for the following day, I decided on a local option and got dropped off at a crossroads on the Muir of Fowlis - Glenkindie road at NJ 510129. There is good parking at a forest access just to the north of the crossroads. http://i46...
