Re: So worth it Stob a'Choire Odhair, Stob Ghabhar

Great pics, now I see what I missed as this was Plan A for last Sat but the forecast for doing the whole 6 was not so good for such a venture, but was cursing Sunday as I would have been the other side of the A82 and from your lovely report this is what I missed, cant wait for my chance. Dont you j...

Re: So worth it Stob a'Choire Odhair, Stob Ghabhar

I probably set off between one and one thirty. Saw a few walkers, but must have missed you somewhere. Ah, we went down a different way: over Beinn Toaig and out to the WHW - you might have still been on the way up! A fellow ski tourer :) Stuff happened last year and I didn't get any, going to make ...

Re: So worth it Stob a'Choire Odhair, Stob Ghabhar

We were up there yesterday, too. Went the opposite way round, but I think we must have missed you! Great pair of hills - Stob a'Choire Odhair was my first Munro, almost exactly 40 years ago..... I suppose I should try to find out what the names of these plants are, happy to be educated if anyone kn...

So worth it Stob a'Choire Odhair, Stob Ghabhar

Stob Ghabhar 20140714.gpx Checking the forecast, Sunday looked like the best day and surprisingly organised and surprisingly early for me 9:30am, I set off from Edinburgh to Bridge of Orchy, took a left turn at the hotel and followed the road to the car park at Victoria Bridge. Quite a few tents an...

The lower path at Ben Cleuch

Ben Cleuch 20140711.gpx I'd taken a look at this walk a few times as it is quite close by, but it always looked so tame on Google earth. The walker rating is high though! Thursday afternoon was just getting hotter and sunnier and I was boiling sitting in the chair in front of the screen. Too late t...

Re: Cruachan - quite nice!

The photos are fabulous and since the photos only capture a fraction of what it's really like you must have been spell bound.

Re: Alls well that ends well Ben Lui & Beinn a'Chleibh

A nice report, ancancha. Some interesting experiments with route finding up Beinn a'Chleibh there. Ben Lui 20140706.gpx I wonder how many of these big boulders are from rock falls and how many from the streams sculpting them out of the bedrock. Would be some impact if a rock fall. Not being a geolo...

Alls well that ends well Ben Lui & Beinn a'Chleibh

Ben Lui 20140706.gpx As per usual a late start from Edinburgh after going to the shops to get a pair of sandals and also got a pole! From reading the other reports and very keen to keep my feet dry; I really like to have dry feet when walking, my plan was to wade across the river using my sandals a...

Re: A wee bit scared at The Ring of Steall

Thanks, I won't do it with snow on Devils ridge, a bit scared as well, but it looks too amazing to miss!
More reassured and now it's summer :)

Eagles at Bidean nam Bian

I'd been wanting to do this walk for a long time, and just after 11am on Sunday decided this is it and set off from Edinburgh, getting to the main car park around 2pm. Quickly put on my boots, crossed the bridge and set off up the winding path Bidean nam Bian start of the winding path.jpg The sun ca...
