Re: Broken zip on sleeping bag

You could just take it to a local repair shop. Can recomend "In Stitches" in St. Andrews, but that is a bit far. Why not try this, Linda's Alterations from Dunfermline. Can't be much different doing a sleeping bag from a garment. She seems to specialise. Otherwise. many dry cleaners do th...

Re: Broken zip on sleeping bag

Before doing anything like that, first try the "plier-pinch-goodtogo" solution. Take two pliers and gently pinch both "wings" of the "runner" of the zip. Easiest fix possible, but good enough for 90 out of 100 "broken" zippers. Pinch or sew just anything over...

Broken zip on sleeping bag

Hi all, Looking for some advice please. The zip on my sleeping bag appears to be broken, and the stopper at the top of the zip is missing, which from what I can gather stops me putting the zip back on the bag. The zip was splitting when I zipped it up, so think I'll need new metal zipper parts... Is...

Re: Fersit 4 - Long circuit of Loch Treig

Thanks again, got it done but was a hard day with the camping stuff (took far too much stuff). You were right about that second day climb too. Also that distance walk from chno dearg and the steep climb down after the fourth. Great report and so glad to have done it. Picked the best two days weathe...

Re: Fersit 4 - Long circuit of Loch Treig

Great report guys and well done  . I had planned on doing it this way, as i'd already done na lap and didn't fancy the descent and reascent described in other reports. Save on the legs.  I stumbled onto your report and it confirmed to me that it was doable to take that chunk off....

Winter is back! Beinn Teallach and Beinn a' Chaorainn

Friday 7th May 2021 After a lengthy forced absence from the hills due to endless lockdowns and the arrival a new baby, it was finally time to return to the hills, at least for a day. My chance also coincided with a hefty dump of fresh snow across much of the Highlands. I decided on Beinn Teallach a...
