End of a lovely week

End of a cracking holiday in Crief. Met an architect that was a Jambo fan and walked the majority of the walk with him.

Auchnafree Hill while holidaying in Crief

Nice day walking in from Loch Turret. Must be the shortest travelling distance i've ever done to the start of a hill walk, we were staying at Crief Hydro for the week. Saw Buzzards, Red Kites, Ravens and deer today. Luckily i checked the gps for the summit as the big cairn was not the summit and the...

Two Ronnies and the Foss Mine

Out with Dad again, we chose these two as this seemed the area best for weather, the Munros were out due to the wind and rain on Friday. Really enjoyed these hills, it seemed like muich more ascent that the 878 m stated in the walk report that's for sure. I felt really fit but dad was not right toda...

Back in the Game

First new Munro in soooo long, picked an easy one with Dad to break us back into it. Cracking walk with sun making the landscape lunar like with all the small lochs and flat lands resembling the dark side of the moon. Luckily all the snow has gone and we had spring like conditions. The dogs need to ...

Re: Munro/hill names for dogs

I like Corrie/Coire or Beinn for a male dog too.

I have a Roy and a Lochy both male spaniels.
Roy coz I liked the name and Lochy after Lochnagar

Re: Plans for 2019

Just to get back out on the hills a bit more regularly. Can't see that happening though since the second wee boy came along last year so don't want to start putting numbers down as I'm afraid I'll just set myself up for dissappointment.
Let's go canny with one new Munro, Corbett and Graham

Re: Geal Charn - in the shadow of a man's best friend

Was really sorry to read your FB post on this, she was a lucky dog. Her job is complete in that she has inadvertently helped you guys and more importantly your daughter understand the great circle of life. The lovely thing coming from it all is its maybe just left a gap that needs filled by another ...

Re: How did you first take to the hills?

I was a relatively late starter at the age of 26. I was away for long periods and when I was at home like others it was spent with my girlfriend (now wife) or my mates, no time for the hills. In that time my dad was picking away at the Munros and he dragged me up Bynack More. We had a terrible argum...
