Re: Two vegans up Meall Buidhe & Stuchd an Lochain

Lovely report & photos Chloeeh.

Shame about the same cliché group of WH users that spoil the forums with their unnecessary comments.

Unfortunately this seems to be the norm these days on WH.

Re: Advice: What to do when someone doesn't turn up at the s

Hey folks, long time no speak. Kiddies are finally old enough that I don't feel guilty leaving the wife with them whilst I go out in the hills again so expect some more regular posting on my part. Yep I definitely went through this as well, felt bad leaving the wife with two terrors while I enjoyed...

Re: Braemar, Aviemore or A.N.Other?

Stayed in Aviemore a few times last year and The Coffee Corner does the best breakfast :) However the food at the Braemar Lodge's restaurant was delicious. So basically, if you don't mind staying someplace busy, then Aviemore....or prefer a quiet weekend away, then Braemar. Choices..choices.....

Arrived later than planned, didn't start until 11am

Slow going in the snow.

Decided to head back and give Meall a'Choire Leith a miss this time, back at car for 3pm

Re: A fine line between pleasure and pain…

Indeed - the Beinn a'Bheithir Munros across the unmistakable pyramid of Sgor a'Choise. I have Ulaidh pencilled in for a week on Saturday, also by the purist route up the Aonach Dubh a'Ghlinne. At one point I believe there is over 500m of height gain in less than 1km!  wow that is pre...

Re: A fine line between pleasure and pain…

Great report....but I LOVE that photo with the the hill and clouds making it look like an active volcano!
Looking at the map, I'm thinking the hill is Sgorr Dhearg? Such a great photo

Re: Ice Axe size for Winter Walking

I would like to thank those who genuinely responded with advice and tips on ice axes. It's very much appriecated. They were exactly what I was looking for. However, there are those minor few who felt the need to respond to my post not about the ice axes but crictise my shopping technique instead. Wh...
