South Downs Way West from Uppark

During Storm Aiden, rained for all but last 30 min.

Spindle hedge was seen on Huckswood Lane between Huckswood Copse and Chalk Quarry (shortly after I fell over on polished slippy chalk)

Glenridding Dodd, Sheffield Pike, windy

Last hills of the trip (before cafe and book shop in Penrith).

Wind was very strong, on the edge of turning back.

Managed to largely avoid the rain which started in earnest shortly after return to the car.

St Sunday Crag, Fairfield

Very enjoyable walk, especially as the cloud cleared from Fairfield as we were on it (was swirling around on the way) to reveal the best view from a hill yet. Fairfield was also Wainwright number 70.

Dipped feet in stream on way back.

Dodd (nr Skiddaw) before Canoeing

From forestry car park, largely following their route to summit.

Lunch in car park, then off to Keswick for iced cream, and canoeing down the upper Derwent River across Derwent Water to Keswick.
