Re: 2015 Plans?

Well... Hopefully will get to 141 Munros - half way...that means 61 this year. I quite fancy including the Aonach Eagach ridge, and the corrour hills, and Ben alder - but to be honest, every new walk is exciting in its own right.. I'm totally with Weasel - the numbers are just an excuse to get out t...

Re: How did 2014 go?

Sgurr......I am very much not retired with a more than full time job.....and I've clocked up just short of 1000 hours of activity this year.

Not all walking - plenty of running, cycling, swimming and skiing too......

It CAN be fitted in!!

Re: How did 2014 go?

I had lots of goals .....walking and non- walking

Hoped to get to 20 Munros - but reached 80 with a bit of determination since August
52 done solo

Quite a few repeat Wainwrights and a few new Cheviots

Re: Current snow conditions

I always do something on Christmas Day - walk/ run/ cycle - why not? I get outside nearly every day! Just a 36 mile cycle this year but it was lovely

Re: Wainwrighteers, how did you bag Helm Crag?

Simon-b.... I walked up Helm Crag some years ago - before the days of discovering that things like the Howitzer were allowed to be climbed! I've considered it climbed as Wainwright never went up the Howitzer either....but I've always had a 'niggle' about it, and it's on the list to be revisited so I...

Re: Athol hills - Beinn Dearg/ Carn a' Chlamain

Well...I've answered by own question...having walked Carn a'Chlamain this morning It's doable but I will definitely change my tyres to the fat ones for any future trips. It was just laziness that I didn't bother this time. The track directly along the river is the 'best' but still pretty rocky and p...

Re: Athol hills - Beinn Dearg/ Carn a' Chlamain

Thanks scoob.....that's tomorrow sorted.
I've done 4 decent days of walking. A more gentle bike and a single Munro day will be perfect!
The weather has been SO good this week for the time of year.

Re: Athol hills - Beinn Dearg/ Carn a' Chlamain

Thanks Sgurr.....which of the two hills was that? I'm thinking that the track up to Carn A' Chlamain looks like the best bet out of the two
