Re: High Stile Ridge

Hello to all. Thanks again for your messages. It is possible that the hazy lump behind the photo overlooking Ennerdale could be the Isle Of Man. Visibility was superb, especially during the morning but I didn't consciously search for the island in the background. Had a great palette of colours over ...

Re: High Stile Ridge

Thanks JohnKaysLeftLeg, I'd been talking about Grizedale Pike all week with reference to another walk that I never even noticed I'd mixed them up. I did the same with High Pike and High Crag but resolved that before final submission. I'll sort it now and then an early night may be required ...

Re: 6 North Western Fells & a few Geocaches thrown in

A week later and the snow is back with a vengeance. No fell walking last weekend as the car couldn't even get off our road due to the volume of snow that fell on Friday afternoon. Went geocaching on Sunday to take my cache tally to 27. Hope for better weather next weekend. Could be into the Butterme...

Re: Lakeland's Best Mile - a Great Evening Fell Walk

Great report and I'm going to take this walk as inspiration for this Saturday. I haven't completed Whiteside yet and the stretch to Ladyside looked inviting last time I was on Hopegill Head. The easy route sounds the right option

Check out the books mentioned in my blog. Set in the Lake District, he combines murder mystery with an appreciation of our lovely district and love of the fells.
