Re: Skye Mountain Magic

Terrific! Those Cuillin views are out of this world.
Only ever climbed Sgurr na Stri from Camasunary as I’ve always thought the views overall are better on the walk in compared to Glen Sligachan, though it’s a much longer drive round of course.

Re: Bodha Hunish

Terrific! Only ever got to the shelter/bothy…the descent down the cliff section looked quite steep but we ran out of time anyway.Such a beautiful peninsula.

Re: A Snowy Day on The Storr

Great photos, especially when double zoomed in Flickr. I don't think you get too many opportunities to walk there with such a good covering of snow -must have been great to get those views third time round and with such nice conditions. And better to get those clouds over the sea than just a plain ...

Re: Hart Fell Ridges Horseshoe near Moffat

Beautiful! Very enjoyable read. It’s a long time since I did this round, a terrific (steep at times) walk in lovely scenery.Reminds me a little of Cairngorm, albeit not on that scale overall.

What a great day you had! One I’ve been meaning to do for ages…you’ve inspired me to get a move on and organise a trip sooner rather than later.

Re: A Snowy Day on The Storr

What astonishing photos! Truly amazing and inspiring - thanks so much for sharing! PS I agree re Storer, I have tried a few of his routes over the years. They are good - but can be a little scary. He often seems to like descending a scramble route - whereas to me, they feel safer in ascent (or are ...

Re: A Snowy Day on The Storr

Those beautifully sharp long views are rather different from what I could see from the Storr - although I thought I got a pretty good day too. Absolutely stunning in the snow and crystal clear in the cold winter air. Thanks dogplodder - yes the clarity was fantastic.Waited a long time for th...

rockhopper wrote:A great set of photos  - lovely conditions and light quality, no wonder you were so happy with it. On my (lengthy) to do list but probably not a winter trip for me unfortunately.

Many thanks Rockhopper - a photographer’s dream in those conditions but stunning all year round.

Fantastic! What a great choice for a winter camp.Quite fancy that one, not too far a walk, or ascent , yet gorgeous views.I loved Beinn na Lap even though we had a very mixed weather day.Always lovely to be above a loch too.
