You could trade an extra 450m of ascent for 2 miles less distance by coming back over Chno Dearg, making it into an almost circular route instead of an out and back. I don't mind some extra ascent to get a good route, but I would not be in a hurry to do that descent from Chno Dearg going North. We ...

We really enjoyed our walk up there. Hopefully playing frisbee in the fort was not too disrespectful!

I am not a fitness expert, but I have suffered sore knees coming downhill in the past. Poles can help take some of the strain. I have found that strengthening my leg muscles has helped take stress off the knees. The simple exercise that I try to do several times a week is to have your back flat agai...

Great report! I did the route staying on the track around to the South side and getting to the top half way along. Your route sounds much better. :D
