Summer Tour Day 2 - Drumochter 4
our_route.gpx A slightly later start to the day saw us arriving at Balsporran cottages in murky conditions and the tops of the mountains swathed in mist. our_route.gpx After travelling up the evening before and camping in Blair Athol Neil and I had a relatively early start planned for our annual summer trip, and being as it was midsummer day we expected to be donning liberal amounts of sun lotion 8) We followed the WH route from the parking area at ...

Weather forecast had been poor, but arrived in sunshine and set off from the car park at the start of the walk to the f...

Moel Eilio Loop
Two months since I've been in the hills, during that time I haven't even been running due to wrenching my ankle in the dangerous pursuit of gardening  I went for one of my favourite routes - up Snowdon via the Llanberis path, then at the finger-post hang a right - over the railway line and desc...

Re: Skye and then some
Sooperb, that was a really enjoyable read and a memorable way to pass your halfway mark. Thanks - next major milestone will be less than 100 to go, although I think that will be in 2014 now. Re: Skye and then some (part 2)
We could see across to the remainder of our route immediately to our north – it looked as though there was a tricky drop between us, but it opened us as we headed towards Sgurr Thearlaich and transpired to be a simple scramble down to the bealach. To ascent Thearlaich meant firstly heading 20 metres...
