Re: Great Budworth & Arley Hall

This made me think of HMHB's song 'Mileage Chart':

Those travel sweets so hard to open
The matrix sign near Arley Hall
To use or not to use the toll road
‘cos after Stoke it starts to crawl

Re: Accurate Weather Forecast - Is there such a thing?

About 10 days ahead of a big trip I will consult Meteociel's GFS Europe page, excellent for long term weather systems coming off the Atlantic. Nearer the time a mix of MWIS, Met Office and BBC. Re: Living life on a Ledge - Ben Nevis

Ledge Route is brilliant and I agree that taking the easier start to avoid the greasy slab makes it better. Great photos, really shows the scale of the North Face

Re: Birthday Beinn, and a decade of Walkhighlands

A belated happy birthday :) and thank you for all the wonderful reports over the last 10 years. It really is appreciated, particularly as being at the opposite end of the country my access to Scotland is fairly limited and therefore I need to maximise my time in the mountains when I do get there. Re: To a castle, a princesses gift, and a jumble of crags.

Great stuff. New Year's Eve was a lovely day, I was over on Harter Fell. As you say great conditions for slightly lower tops from which you can appreciate the big peaks even more.

Re: The Nine Flippin’ Fannichs

A good read, thanks. Worth doing again, especially for Sgurr nan Clach Geala which is a special mountain in good conditions.

Re: Vuirich nearly didn't make it!

Nice photos. When I was there I thought Loch Valigan had a remote feel, despite being objectively fairly close to civilisation.
