Beautiful wee Slow Worm on Ben Lomond

Hi all,

Just wanted to report seeing a 2ft long slow worm on the south shoulder of Ben Lomond on 21/08/2017.

My first encounter with anything snake like in all my time climbing in Scotland.

My 10 year old son's 6th, and my 8 year old daughter's 1st Munro's too.

It was pretty cool !

Re: Ruigh Aiteachan Bothy

For me Bothy's should be what they are. A refuge from bad weather and to use when planning extended stay in a remote area. To that end I do not really think the differing condition really matters as you will either plan to stay in it or not, so the last thing on your mind (well, my mind) is what con...

Re: The Forcan Forty

Hey Jaxter,

Loved the Forcan ridge when did it last year, and your report brings back some great memories.

There is something special about getting "hands on" and you certainly do on the ridge.

Excellent report. Thanks for posting.

Re: Good (ShortHike Between Pitlochry and Torridon

South of Achnasheen you could try Moruisg as another "quicker" option.

Fionn Bheinn has more character than Moruisg though, but is another option for sure.

You will LOVE Torridon. One of my favourite glens. It is mind-blowingly beautiful !

Enjoy...

Re: The Welsh 3000's. March 7th and 8th

I did the "Welsh's" over a weekend a few years ago.

Was a brilliant test of endurance. Grib Goch and Tryffan were brilliant scrambles.

You will love it.

fingers crossed for the weather for you

Re: Saturday 1st or Sunday 2nd October

Don't worry about our pace as a group only ever walks at the pace of the slowest person. If you're keen to join us feel free (we will not pressure you to walk any faster than you're capable of). We are all a very sociable bunch too so would have no issues inviting you into our mad world of random ch...
