Re: Stob Coire Creagach (Binnein an Fhidhleir) from Butterbr

Well done in that heat, and on what is a steep ascent.

Your photos are brilliant, spiky hills ranging into the distance, great job!

Berwyns East

Superb weather continues and I expected bogs to be dry, again, so chose a round of the Berwyn ridge and hills to the east. My planned start was from Pentre, northwest of the lovely village of Llanarmon Dyffryn Ceiriog, but it is a narrow lane here with no parking opportunities so I thought I'd ask i...

Re: Liathach: Munros 2 & 3

Superb report, wonderful photos. A fine choice for your nos. 2 & 3.

If you plan to go on to do the lot though, make sure you leave a good one for your last, you wouldn't want it to be some heathery lump! :)

Re: When is RunHighlands going to be announced???

Congratulations on your Kintail completion and the amazing fast time on this round. I used to meet runners on hills and think they were insane. Shorts, 10-litre packs, hardly any food. Nutters. Insane? Nutters? Quite, my thoughts exactly! As for RunHighlands, why not? Seeing recent posts there...

Re: Return to the Aonach Eagach Ridge

Cracking stuff, what a great day you had, and superb photos. :D

Well done the crew, no wonder you look happy, I bet the pint/s tasted good!

After my traverse a kind chap gave me a lift back up the glen, what a saviour he was since it had just started to rain as well!

Re: Two lovely ridges - from Dale Head to Ard Crags

And then... I wasn't expecting much of Dale Head as a summit, but as I came up to the edge the world just opened up beneath my feet, and I was stunned - crags all along High Spy on one side, and gentler slopes on the other, and the long valley of Newlands Beck running out towards Skiddaw. I serious...

Re: Roque Noblu & More - Hot Hiking in Gran Canaria!

Great stuff, so good to see that volcanic terrain and the roque formations! Reminds me of our holiday to nearby La Gomera when we had snow on the first day, talk about changeable conditions. I was shocked though, I thought I saw a bare chest - for goodness sake put it away man! A Spanish coupl...

Re: Catbells and some misty mountains

Lovely report, a great sample of all that's good about the hills and nice to see a linear route.

Glad it wasn't mist all the way and that you were able to get away from the crowds!

Re: Welsh Hewitts raid and avoiding the bog!

You make these hills sound quite interesting - though it probably helps that it was so dry! I started bagging English & Welsh 2000ers using Marsh's books, as well as the Nuttalls. I like that he gives multiple routes up individual hills, rather than stringing them all together into big rounds, ...

Re: Glen Lochay Munros: when the going gets tough

Well done on this, it is quite a round! I climbed Heasgarnich as a single trip when there was a bit of snow about and enjoyed it - great views down to Loch Lyon and the hills circling it. I attempted Creag Mhor with my son but bad weather arrived just as we were about to head high, that was 18km of ...

Re: Sensational High Camps in Sutherland

Simply one of the best reports I've ever seen on WH, outstanding. It was a fine, interesting and informative read with wonderful photos and oh!, that weather and conditions you experienced. Your report took me there! I find your single-mindedness inspiring too. I see the shin problem didn't stop you...

Re: No thunderstorms on Garbh Bheinn

Ah, memories! A while back I stayed in Onich for a couple of weeks in Feb in mostly good weather and looked over Loch Linnhe to the superb sight of a snow-capped Garbh Bheinn. I had planned on doing your route but chose the wrong day to go, although fine when crossing on the ferry by the time I star...
